Ten on Thursday

1. I spent a lot of time throughout the week making and getting things for Kayleigh's baby shower on the 14th.

2. I also covered for a 1st grade class while the teachers did DIBELS. It was a fun time had by all! They make you feel like a celebrity when they don't see you all day and then suddenly see you! Gotta love 'em!

3. I have been vigilant with my exercise for a couple weeks and have been counting calories and have lost 2 lbs since the beginning of January, which is 8 lbs overall! Yay!

4. I caught a cleaning "bug" and was a whirlwind during the week! Too bad it doesn't hit me too often! Ha!

5. Zach's promise of a ceiling fan and light for Valentine's day last year came true last weekend! We spent a fairly frustrating day putting it in! We were both about ready to scream, and thank goodness it worked or I don't what we would have done!

6. Zach's classes started and he is taking 12 hours! Pray that the semester goes well for the both of us!

7. The weather was calling for snow on Thursday and I definitely shrugged it off thinking we wouldn't get it because I really wanted the 16th off. We were scheduled for it off, but it would have had to be a make-up day. Well, it did snow, and pretty good! It had terrible timing, though. It was the worst during the commute home and after and hour (double my normal time) of sliding around and not being able to brake I was home! I was really worried they would call school off, but they just delayed it 2 hours! Woo hoo! The best of both worlds!

8. On Friday, Mama, Mama Joyce, Suzanne, and I went to Cheddar's to eat. We had to wait almost an hour and it was FREEZING in their foyer, but once we did get to eat, the food was really yummy. Hopefully Zach and I will get to go soon!

9. My 2nd grade kids were really goofy on Thursday. We play a review game where they use their vocabulary words in sentences properly. They kept using me in the sentences and I have to say they were a tad funny.
Ex: I imagine a briad (bird) on Mrs. Shceller's (Scheller) head.
Mrs. Sheller (Scheller) balance (so it was used incorrectly) on a jaguar and fell off.

One of their words was "wider" and I did threaten them that if in any way they used me in that sentence, I would be mad! Haha, I know they were considering it though!

10. Kayleigh's baby shower was a big hit. I was so happy she had a good time! Everyone loved the sherbet punch, fruit dip, and cupcakes I had made, which made me so happy!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
