Zach's Spring Break!

This week is Zach's spring break, so we've been trying to do some fun things to help him relax before he goes back to finish the semester off strong!

We also put down laminate hard wood floors in my Mama Joyce's dining room on Monday and Tuesday. ( I took 3 days off from work to spend with him! : ))

Also, on his spring break, our newest nephew was born!  It was Monday, March 11.  He was born at 7:59 a.m. and was 7 lbs. 12 oz.  He was three weeks early, so his lungs had some fluid in them and he had to spend 6 days in the NICU!  It was awesome when we finally got to hold him! : )  His name is Samuel Ray, and his middle name is after Zach's dad's middle name!  I know ya'll can't believe this, but I don't even have a picture of him!  I am a bad Aunt!
On Wednesday we had finished the floor, so we were going to have some fun!  We went to the Gerst Haus for lunch (YUM!) and then bowling.  I think I scored my all-time LOW score it bowling.  I am too ashamed to type it, so we're going to leave it at that!  We did have a fun day though!  I just never get tired of spending time with Zach.  I love my husband so much!

I think he had fun the rest of his break, but he still worked Friday and Saturday!  So goes life!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
