The Grinch who Stole Thanksgiving

I should probably preface this post by saying I am extremely Thankful for all the people and things in my life.  I pray and thank the Lord for them each and every day.  With that said...

I should go ahead and tell you I wasn't feeling all the warm fuzzies that are normally felt on this thankful overladen holiday.  Several things attributed to my bah-hum-bug-ness, and I could pretend that I was all mushy and gushy about my love for everything all day long, but I want to be real.  It just didn't happen this year.  Any readers left?  I realize I'm a downer.  I kinda-sorta redeem myself.  (Well, if you consider the fact that I didn't steal the turkey and trimmings and shove them up a fireplace to my awaiting sleigh...)

Anyway, we had a big debate of where to go this Thanksgiving, what to do, who to see, what to do afterward to the point of ad nauseum.  At one point, I just threw my hands up and proclaimed that Well fine, then.  We'll just stay home, order pizza, and see no one!  Not one of my grandest moments, I tell ya.  Could have contributed to the overall apathy of Thanksgiving this year.  Any-who, we eventually decided that we'd go to my paternal grandparents' in Kentucky and from there Zach would ride back with my brother and then go hunting at his grandparents' farm, and I would continue on down to Alabama with my Mama, Mama Joyce, and Suzanne.  In the end, I am glad we didn't stay home, and that we both had fun on our separate adventures.

#1 thing I am Thankful for this year?  The fact that I have 364 days before I have to think about Thanksgiving again!!

(I kid, kinda.........)

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
