April 28-May 2 and this week!

These last two weeks have become increasingly busier between work outs, finals, tutoring, and of course, jobs!

The 28- 2nd was ISTEP at my school, so I spent the week administering that.  Cue chewing off my fingernails and wanting to rip my hair out!

Our niece, Aubrie, had her 7th birthday on April 30, and we were all going to celebrate... until the poor thing came down with strep.   From what I hear, she had an awful case of it, so we're going to celebrate next week!  We can't believe she's 7!

I went to mow at my Mama Joyce's on Friday night and all was going well until I ran over an old swing with the chains still attached that must have fallen off of an old picnic table, because it's been in that vicinity for about 15 years and I've never hit it before.  Naturally, it was all wrapped around the lawn mower blade, so I attempted (while shouting multiple "special" words I save for frustrated moments) to get it off.  A few failed attempts with little progess led me to call who else, but my Daddy!  It took us over an hour, but through jacking the lawn mower up, lots of yanking, and using his truck.... we got it off!  Talk about an eventful night!

Saturday we helped out at my school's car show from about 9:00- 1:00, grabbed lunch at Sonic, took a nap, and then went to shoot guns so Zach could make sure his was sighted in.  We ended up having supper at his parents' house since we were out their way.  The weather was beautiful... minus the mosquitoes!

On Sunday, we finally got a blissful day of rest in.  We went to Sunday school and then had "Worship KidStyle" during "big church" and then had lunch at Mama Joyce's.  The lazy part followed: We finished up watching season 5 of "Chuck" (I didn't like how it ended : ( ), napping again, and ordered pizza.  I'm pretty sure it was one of the most relaxing days we had this year.  There was no cleaning, homework, lesson plans, places to have to go, just wonderful.  I definitely understand why God orders us to take a day of rest; we need it and it's soooooo nice! : )

This week I worked the softball throw at our last home track meet and so far have made it to the Y every day!  Woo hoo!

Nellie scared about 20 years off my life by escaping yesterday right before I had to leave for work.  I went on the deck and couldn't find her anywhere, so I then took off with a box of treats and called her name at least 100 times down the street.  I ran into a lady cleaning and she said she'd seen a beagle, so I ran to the end of the block, but didn't see any signs of her.  I decided I'd go back down and then double around in front of the houses, but the lady shouted to me, "He found her!" Nellie can running towards me as I'm shouting praises to the Lord for bringing her back to me, but it was her, "Oh craaaaaap, am I in trouble!" run.  I dropped to my knees crying and could only hold her and say her name.  After telling Zach this story, he said, "I bet that lady thought you were craaaaaaaaaaaaazy!"  Haha.  I couldn't help it though, the relief I felt was overwhelming and in-the-moment.  I did whisper to Nellie as I toted her home, "I'm going to spank you when we make it home!"  Haha!  I only swatted her once, seeing as she knew she was in deep trouble, but it was funny because I went to put the treats back on top of the fridge, and she perked up like she thought she was going to get one.  I just looked at her, laughed, and said, "Ah, no!  Not a chance!"  All of this, and I still made it to work just a minute late.  I couldn't believe it!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
