Engagement Pictures Are In!

These pictures uploaded out of order, but I guess that doesn't really matter. We had our pictures taken on November 8 after church on Sunday. We went to a park in Newburgh for most of the pictures and the pictures with us against the brick were taken at our photographer's house. We're currently trying to pick which one should go in the paper for the engagement announcement, so if anyone has input, we'd love to hear it!

Laying on a picnic table. I think this one is a fun picture!

Pretending to propose.

Practicing for our first kiss as man and wife.

Another good one!

Piggybacking me through the park.

He makes it look so easy, huh?

The sweetest man I know.

Definitely a candidate for the newspaper if the right side is cropped off. I really love the beautiful yellow tree with our black shirts!

I think this would be a good one to have hanging up in our home.

Maybe my most favorite.

I also think this would be a good one to have bigger and hanging on the wall.

Look at those blue eyes!

Just sweet!

Hope ya'll enjoyed the pictures as much as we had fun taking them! I can't wait till the wedding, but time is flying by, so I'm sure it'll be here before I know it. On the wedding front, my dress arrived 2 weeks ago, so we went and picked it up! It fits perfectly and needs no alterations, except for adding a bustle in. (Which makes Mama very happy!) Hopefully over Christmas break Uncle David will get some marriage counseling in and we can get all the guys fitted for their tuxedos, and actually pick out the tuxedos and bridesmaid dresses. It seems like there is so much left to do, so I'm glad we still have plenty of time! I think this is the first project ever that I'm actually not procrastinating on! : ) Hope everybody is have a great November and preparing for Thanksgiving!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
