What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : )
1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything!
2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult!
3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings.
4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can call him my husband!
5. All of my aunts, uncles, and cousins. Some people have that "weird" extended family, but I always look forward to seeing mine and wish I could see them more often.
6. My future in-laws. I am blessed to have an awesome in-law family coming my way. As far as I know they like me and are looking forward to having me too! : )
7. College. I can't believe this is #7, but I do realize that I am privileged to take part in higher learning, and I can't wait to put a degree in teaching to use!
8. Megan, Elizabeth, and Brittany. Not to just scrunch them into one group, but these girls have been my long time friends and I am thankful for each one of them and the unconditional love they show me even when I don't deserve it!
9. Christine. God blessed me with an awesome roommate last year and again this year. All I can say is I am thankful for her and I hope she enjoys all of the fun we have together as much as I do!
10. My job. In a time where so many are unemployed, I'm thankful I have work and am glad I enjoy it. (most days!)
11. Now a few less serious things I'm thankful for: Country music. I love it so much and it can make my day a whole lot better when I hear some of my favorite songs.
12. Facebook. It entertains me when I should be working on homework!
13. My car. It may not be the newest or shiniest car, but it's mine and it doesn't look like a total piece of crap, so I'm glad to have it to get me from here to there!
14. Wedding things. I am thankful that I'm getting to have the wedding of my dreams and can't wait for the wonderful day that's quickly approaching! : )
15. Healthy choice fresh mixers. They are a quick, tasty meal that are also good for you.
15. The Recreation and Fitness Center at USI. I'm thankful that we have such a nice facility to work out in, even if I do think their scales are broken!
16. The rock wall at the Rec. Center. I've climbed several times this semester and am HOOKED! It's a stress reliever, is fun, and a great work out! I am so glad they built it!
17. American Eagle, because without them, I would have no clothes! haha.
18. The teacher I am working with this semester, Mrs. Farmer. She is such a great mentor and I am learning so much from her! I'm thankful I have the chance to work with her.
19. Chick-fil-a. In a way I'm kidding, but really I am thankful there is a Christian company that is an example of such great success even though they have morals and are closed on Sundays.
and.....
20. Seeing as this is my 20th year, I am just thankful that the Lord has given me another year to enjoy, love, learn, and have fun. Here's hoping this year will be even better!

Have a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving, ya'll and don't forget to tell those you love how thankful you are for them!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!
