Well...

This week, a lady from Abbington's, the place we're getting the bridesmaid's dresses from, called to let me know that they couldn't do the dress in the colors I wanted. Only problem that makes it upsetting is that they originally told me they COULD. She then proceeded to list off other options that I could do and my head was just spinning. At one point she said, "Or you could just start over from scratch!" I don't think so! So it turns out the dresses can still be made with solid fuschia, and no light pink sash, which I was so excited about, as ya'll read in one of my previous post. : ( But for now I said to go ahead and order them since I have spent the last 3 weekends dress shopping and am fed up with it! They WILL work out one way or another, and I am hoping we can work out a way to make lighter sashes for them ourselves! This was my first experience with an almost "Bridezilla" moment and hopefully it won't flare up again before the wedding! I don't really see myself being that way. Although I make no guarantees.
Other than the dress incident, things have been going fairly well. As you can tell, I'm getting better at updating the blog, and am hopefully not boring ya'll too much! School is about the same. I had a chemistry test this week and feel pretty good about it. My grade should be up soon and I hope it's good news! Other than that, it hasn't been too crazy, just kind of tiring. Of course, if I went to bed before midnight every night I might feel a little more rested!
Moving right along, I can't think of much more to impart. Oh... Aubrie, Zach's niece, went POTTY for the first time on tuesday night! : ) We're hoping she's on her way to big girl underwear! Yeah Aubrie!
We hope everybody is have a great start to February!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
