Ten on Thursday

1. Last Friday we got to take the kids to the YMCA to swim. They had a blast and enjoyed watching all of us teachers go off the diving board!

2. On Saturday, I went to Mama Joyce's while Zach worked, and Elizabeth came over to swim! We had so much fun and got a little more tan!

3. I also mowed Saturday so it won't look so bad after we get back from vacation!

4. I got to meet my Mom and Dad's chickens (or should I say Suzanne's?) last week. They are very tame and a couple of them let me hold them.

5. Suzanne also got her first job last week. She is working a kennel helping take care of all the dogs! Welcome to the working force, Sister!

6. Saturday night we (Mama, Suzanne, and I) practiced hand bells at church with the other members of the hand bell choir for 2.5 hours. We played Sunday morning for the 4th of July and it went really well. I will try to post the videos my dad took on here later.

7. After Zach got of work on Sunday we went to his Granny and Papaw's to eat. His Aunt made Sopapilla (spelling?) and it was delicious!! I must remember to get that recipe. They also made two types of home made ice cream, but I only had room left to try the peach! It was pretty good!

8. We enjoyed a lazy day off on Monday and went to Zach's sister's house to eat that night and to set off fireworks. Aubrie wore earmuffs like you wear when you mow or shoot a gun, which I think was cute and quite hilarious!

9. At Summer camp this week we took the kids to "Bouncing of the Walls." It was a place with several inflatables that the kids could play on. I had a blast too, until I twisted wrong on one of the inflatables and heard my back go "crrrrrr-aaa-cck." If felt bad for a couple days, but it feeling some better today! So, the lesson of that is to learn when you are too old to play with the youngens!

10. Last night Zach and I went out to eat with Ryan and Kayleigh to Cheeseburger in Paradise. They were making fun of me because I always get the same burger and was reluctant to try a new kind. I'm proud to say (even if it is lame) that I did try the mushroom and swiss burger and it was pretty good! See, old dogs can learn new tricks! (Or at least try something different every once in a while!)

Hope ya'lls week has been great!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
