Ten on Thursday

1. Last Friday was our last full day in Florida. I know I haven't even mentioned vacation, but I was planning on doing a vaca post!

2. Zach, Mama Joyce, and I drove back on Saturday. It was a long day in the car, but we had some yummy ice cream from Durbin's in Clanton, Alabama and Chick-fil-a for lunch!

3. Zach had to work Sunday the day after we got home! Boo, but I am really glad this new job is going well for him! He likes is so much and some of his old friends from Gander work there.

4. With Zach working Sunday, I went to church and then Mama Joyce and I went to Hunan's for lunch.

5. That night we went out to Olive Garden with Ryan and Kayleigh to catch up after our vacations. (They went to North Carolina to visit his parents.)

6. Monday was back to work... Bleh! Not that I don't enjoy the kids, but it is NOT equivalent to Florida!

7. Zach had a staff appreciation at work Monday night, and came home happy that he got a 16 oz. Rib eye meal for free!

8. Wednesday I got to go out with some friends from work to Hacienda. We had a great time talking and hanging out.

9. Tonight we took Nellie fishing for the first time at Zach's parents' new house! It was adorable the way she watched us pull the fish in. She also got wild when the fish hit the bank! Zach held one up to her and she tried so hard to get it and eat it. I feel she would have gobbled it up if we had allowed it. Sadly I didn't have my camera because the pictures would have been adorable! We did get a picture of the 1 ft bass I caught on Zach's Phone, but I wouldn't have a clue as to getting it on here!

10. Zach was supposed to go to the Dr. Today for the surgical consult for the removal of his lipoma (sp?) but the office called and it turns out that the surgeon he was going to see does not do lipomas! Ugh, all I'm saying is shouldn't they have known that from the get-go? So we are bumped up until August 18th. Pray that the Dr. He gets is a good one and the surgery would come at a good time. (even though I am not sure there is ever a "good time" to plan for surgery)

11. And here's an extra since I am slackerific! (yeah, I just coined that term) I am still searching for a teaching job! Please pray that God's path for us will be clearly laid out to us. It is very scary to think that there are only 2 weeks until school starts, and I have no job. And let me just acknowledge that I am aware that my impatience and fear are undesirable to God, but I always have trouble handing those over to him. I do trust that he has a specific plan for me. I just have to go with it and try my very best at each interview I have!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
