Weekly Wrap Up Feb. 20th

1. We haven't had much snow, so we got to have President's Day off. Zach also had it off so we just got to have a fun day which equals doing nothing! Wish we could have more of those.
2. The next day, Feb 21st was Mama Joyce's 82nd birthday. She got lots of goods including a puzzle from us and some new Alfred Dunner clothes. I told her we were sorry the only Thomas Kinkade we can afford her is the puzzle! She said that was okay! ; )
3. Thursday Elizabeth and I went to Rafferty's for supper. I had never tried their salad, but it was delicious. I'm just hoping all the meat and cheese on it didn't disqualify it from being healthy! Hehe.
4. Zach had Saturday off, so we went to JoAnn's, Hobby Lobby, and Gander Mtn. I got lots of new fabrics for skirts. Mama Joyce told me to watch out, that buying fabric gets addictive, and I told her I'd already found that out! : ) I just love all the colors in the store and want them allllll!
5. Saturday afternoon we went to Zach's parents' new house that they bought and are working on to help. I was definitely not as helpful as Zach though. He helped lay floors, and tried to keep Nellie and Oliver away from all the chaos. After a while his aunt, uncles, cousins, and grandparents came over to eat supper. Poor Nellie was such an angel while we were there, but she was so exhausted she fell asleep in the middle of the floor even though everything was still busy and loud.
6. On Sunday, Zach went to a bow shoot, I went to church, and when we both got home we went ot Lowe's to buy a shop-vac. We are working on scraping the ceiling so we can then popcorn it. I can't wait, because I know that will help it look so much better!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
