Ten on Thursday

1. Today marks the 3rd snow day in my student teaching career, out of the two weeks I have been there! Tomorrow marks the fourth! (Not that I mind it at ALL, since no matter what I only go until May 6th. All other years when I'm an actual teacher I will have to make it up.)

2. Zach had his first math test last night and he got an 87! I am so proud of him!

3. It was awesome to just watch the snow fall all day long! I also got to make snow cream and Nellie tried a little!

4. My little sister, Suzanne, went to her orientation at Western today and is moving the rest of her things in on Saturday or Sunday. I can't remember which!

5. I taught my first lesson yesterday! I am starting with math and I didn't really think it went that well, but my teacher said it went fine! Yay?

6. Zach found out this week that his Grandma Scheller has Leukemia. They think it is a treatable kind and if they can get rid of it, it will stay gone. Please keep all of us in your prayers and that the Lord would be with her and the doctors as they treat her!

7. We got to take supper to our friends from church, Justin and Kristin, who just had a baby last monday, January 10th. Baby Jackson was perfect in every way and had the cutest little nose! He was also a very well behaved little guy and wanted to sleep the whole time we were there! Too bad his Mama and Daddy are wanting him to sleep at NIGHT instead of the day! Ha! : ) I can say though It makes me more anxious for a little bundle o' joy. But don't any of ya'll worry, because the sensible part of me still tells me it is SO not the time for that yet! Plus, what would poor Nellie girl think?!

8. Speaking of our dog-child, she was l-o-v-i-n-g the snow today! She was so happy as she ran around in the snow. She would dig her face down in the snow and then have it all over her nose and eyebrows. Sadly, I could not get her to take a good picture today!

9. This weekend I am babysitting over night for some of my favorite little kiddos! Seeing as they may or may not sleep through the night, I may repeal my want for kids even soon! (Especially since one loves to display the terrible twos!)

10. We got Nellie a doggy bed at Bed, Bath, and Beyond last Friday! She is still sleeping in her kennel at night of course (why break a good habit,) so it is just for her to lounge around in during the day! She does loves it though! It did take her a while to warm up to. It was so funny because she started out by sitting beside it, then half-way in it, and then finally she slept in it. Now she knows it is hers and she knows exactly what its used for!

Also, I know this is a picture less post! (Somewhat boring, right?) I just don't have the energy to upload them tonight, so I may upload them on here tomorrow (since it's a SNOW DAY after all!) : ) So if you really, really care, check back later!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
