Ten on a Friday

1. Last Friday I hung out at Zach's parents' house since we STILL did not have power!

2. Also on Friday, we were supposed to leave for my cousin, Wesley's wedding. However, Zach did not get home from work until 12:30 on Saturday morning. Luckily I had packed absolutely everything we needed to travel and already had the car ready. We left our house at 12:45 in the morning and drove all night to get to Mississippi! As soon as we got there we are breakfast and collapsed into bed to take a nap before the wedding. The wedding was beautiful and their reception was lovely. We are so glad we made it! Congratulations, Wesley and Lara Tew!
(Pics are with my iPod Touch, so not the greatest quality, but I thought they were pretty good pics of us!)

3. Since Zach's parents kept Nellie, we went straight there to pick her up! It was so sweet when we saw her. She could not contain her excitement and she kept rolling over for us to pet her and rubbing up against our hands and legs. We know she had a great time with her Nana and Papaw, but she sure missed her Mama and Daddy! (Who also missed her a great deal as well!)
4. On Memorial Day we got sleep in! It saddens me greatly that this is now so exciting to me. It's even sadder that 8:30 is now sleeping in. We then went to mow and weed eat at Mama Joyce's! Have I mentioned that I LOVE mowing? Love, love, love it!

5. Tuesday Zach found out the hours he would be working at his new job! Oh yeah, did I mention he quit? He sure did, and instantly got a new job at Buck's and Jake's (a hunting store) in Booneville! God is so good! He has provided us with our every need and never ceases to amaze us with his unending love. I sure hope that we are living a good enough testament to others we meet. Trust me, we are the first to admit we would be on a sinking ship without our Lord and Savior!

6. Tuesday was also my first day of Summer Camp at my daycare. I found out I am filling in the k-1 room until my friend, Ryan, is done with his teaching job on Union Co. Then I will be with the 2-3 graders the rest of the summer! Our first field trip was to the Zoo yesterday! The kiddos were Sooo incredibly exhausted, but had a great time. I think I may have been even more tired than they were, especially in the calf region! (the hills at the zoo are killer!)

7. Our second field trip was today. We walked to the YMCA to swim and play in the game room. I got to swim the whole time with the kids, and loved it. It sure did make me miss swim team though! It was also a reminder that I am way out of swimming shape! I would love to join if we had the extra money right now, since it is not really that far from our house.

8. I overheard one of my kids casually telling a friend at lunch, "Yeah, don't you know that Jesus died so that we could live?" My heart melted... Until I heard him follow up with, "AND, he he, he was NAKED!" I suppose he'll be forgiven for the last comment since he is only 5.

9. Tonight I took Nellie to the Starbuck's drive-thru with me. I got my drink and the girl was enamored by Nellie's charming show she puts on at any drive through. (Ahem, especially a particular Donut place.). Any way, the asked if she wanted a "pup cup," "What is a pup cup?" you ask. It is a small cup filled with nothing but frothy, thick whipped cream. Nellie bowled over my purse to get at it. This led to her getting my purse splotched with some of the yumminess from the pup cup. Then, naturally, Nellie thinks, hmm, this white stuff is on Mama's drink too. I had better check to make sure hers is good too! Yep, she licked my frappucino! Oh, how I regretted the pup cup at that moment. I with held the rest from her until we got home and inside the house, and with my drink then safe, I have to say it was cute to watch her eat it! I have pictures that I will post later!

10. I cannot believe we are 3 weeks away from our first anniversary. I know it was jut yesterday I was saying, "I do," to my new husband. It couldn't possibly have been that long, could it?!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
