Ten on Thursday

1. Last Friday we took the summer camp kids to Hartke Pool in Evansville. It was supposed to rain, but thank goodness it held off until just after we left the pool. Thank goodness for that, because we had already had a field trip cancelled due to rain!

2. On Saturday we had a yard sale with Ryan and Kayleigh. It was without Zach though, because he had to work. It was pouring that morning and all our customers were well over 60. They also said we were one of the only yard sales that was open. We kept it going until about 10:00 when the rain was blowing side ways. We then went to Shyler's for lunch. Then Kayleigh and I abandoned Ryan to build up our underwear collection at VS. We had way too much fun!

3. When Zach got home from work, I am pretty sure we watched a movie! (I think, Saturday went by in a flash!!)

4. On Sunday I went down to my Dad's parents' (Mama Grace and Granddaddy) for Father's Day. It's a long day to drive 5 hours, but it is always worth it knowing they love to see us so much!

5. We also ate with Zach's mom's side of the family when I got back on Sunday night. So it was good that we got to see both of our Dads that day!

6. On Monday at Summer camp we took the kids to an Evansville Otters' baseball game. It was pretty sweltering in the heat, but the kids had a fun time, especially with the mini-games some o them got to participate in between the innings.

7. On Tuesday I met my Mama on Tuesday to grab Chick-fil-a and go to Sam's Club.

8. On Thursday, we took the kids to see "Gulliver's Travels" at the movies. It was definitely not something I would have let my kids see as they show half of Jack Black's butt (can we say disgusting?) and they say the a- word 6 or 7 times. I didn't even know what to say when they said it, but all the kids were gasping. Haha.

9. Then after work Thursday, Kayleigh and I went shopping again! : ) Both of our wedding anniversaries are in June (Hers is the 5th) so we spend well over a half hour carefully selecting the cards that our husbands will barely read! (Haha, maybe they will read them, but we both discussed how we couldn't buy the long, gushy ones because our guys don't like to read a lot of words on anything, much less a card!)

10. Today we took the kids to a park to play, had a picnic lunch (which made me feel sicky, therefore I hardly ate), and then bowling!! We play almost 3 full games of bowling, and the kids were having such a fun time. I think especially so when Ms. Nathana would do her victory dance!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
