Ten on Thursday

1. Today my kids were full of it! One little boy was telling a friend, "And you know, I know there's a girl, that thinks I'm HOT!" Another one of my kids told her dad the other day, "Mrs. Scheller is sloooowly taking over all of Miss Tubbs' job!" Yes, I was striving for world domination, but I suppose I will settle for domination of a 1st grade classroom! : ) Which, by way, I will only teach every subject for one week, and then start returning her classroom to her. It's going great so far!

2. This past week Zach has been pulling down the ceiling tiles in our family room! We now have an extra 2''-3'' of ceiling! One step closer to my light and fan!

3. This is my fourth week of student teaching, and only the first that we've made an entire week of school! Assuming we go tomorrow! (Don't worry, we will!)

4. Tomorrow is our Nellie girl's 6 MONTH BIRTHDAY!! Aside from the fact I can't believe how fast she has grown, she is so very smart! More on her half birthday tomorrow!

5. Zach also rearranged the living room while I was gone to school yesterday! It will take some getting used to, but it gives a little more room in the family room!

6. We babysat twins and their older brother last weekend. It was so sweet because last time both twins cried and did NOT want anything to do with Zach, and this time Claire loved Zach! He asked her if he could pick her up and put her to bed and she just stretched her arms up to him and smiled! Progress, and it was so adorable! As for Becca, she clung to me like there was no tomorrow! : )

7. Yesterday I found some biscuits that Zach cooked a few days ago. Nellie loved them! Hehe, she thought they were both a chew toy brick and a food!

8. Thursday is our biggest TV night of the week. Wipeout is on now, and we just love to watch it and laugh. If only we could go on there and win $50,000! Then The Office at 8!

9. This weekend I should find out the score from my last Praxis II test! I pray I passed, but am nervous to find out! Pray it went well!

10. I got to buy Valentine's (like the kids kind) for my students this year! They are Hoops and YoYo and I was a little too excited about them! I am looking forward to our Valentine's Day party though!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
