Ten on Thursday

1. At long last, the moment I have dreaded for so many weeks has come. Tomorrow is my last day with my first graders! It breaks my heart to leave them, so I hope my third graders will be equally as sweet!

2. Speaking of my sweet kiddos, they are not too thrilled about tomorrow either. On Tuesday one of them said in such a sad voice, "I don't want it to be Thursday because the day after that is Friday and you have to leave us!" I reassured them I don't want to either, but I have to move on to Third grade. I'm sure tomorrow will be bittersweet for all of us!

3. Tomorrow is Nellie girl's 7 month birthday! We just can't believe how big she is! More about her tomorrow or this weekend though!

4. Zach had another Calculus test this week. With Grandma Scheller's illness these past few weeks he didn't get much studying so he didn't do his best on the test. He was thrilled however because everyone did horribly on the test and the teacher is letting them do it over! : ) Praise the Lord!

5. Zach had to do his first over night job in Columbia, Kentucky Tuesday night. I was definitely sad he was leaving and didn't want to be alone, so Nellie and I packed up and went to Grandma and Grandpa's house (Zach's parents.) It was so nice because I could actually relax and sleep and they live closer to Boonville than we do so I got to sleep in! Thanks for letting us stay!

6. Suzanne lent me Nicholas Sparks' new book Safe Haven. I read it from front to back yesterday. It was so good, but so sad. I don't want to ruin it if you haven't read it, but in general it is about a woman who has run away from her extremely abusive husband to start a new life. It was so hard to read, because the sad truth is that this happens in real life to real women. I am so thankful because I know what a wonderful, loving, and caring husband I have. I can't imagine not having him in my life!

7. We went out to eat with our friends, Ryan and Kayleigh, tonight. We had Olive Garden and it was soooo yummy! Plus, we have left overs for lunch tomorrow.

8. This weekend it our little cousin, Norah Kate's, second birthday. We wish we could make it to her party, but after these past few weeks, we have not gotten to really rest at all, so we are just going to stay home! Happy 2nd Birthday, Norah Kate! We wish we could make it!

9. Ryan and Kayleigh were telling us about this new ice cream place in Newburgh called "Sweet Cece's." They went last night and said it was good, so we may look in to trying it out sometime this weekend!

10. We have been married 8 months as of this past Saturday! It's hard to believe that we are already thinking about plans for our first anniversary! Time sure does fly when you are having fun, though! : )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
