Ten on Thursday

1. Jacob and Jenna get here tomorrow and we are so excited!

2. We also have been cleaning like mad men for their arrival! Don't worry, our house definitely needed it anyway!

3. Nellie is getting her stitches out tomorrow! I can't take her since I'm not allowed to miss school, so Daddy is taking her. We took her to their house tonight because it would be easiest for everyone. Our house sure is quiet though and I miss her! This is only the second night since we have had her that we have been apart.

4. I forgot to mention last week that during my spring break, I got to go down and see Suzanne's dorm. I hope this rectifies that mistake, sister! We also had a lovely lunch at Olive Garden and got to run to Target while she was in one of her classes.

5. Zach got to have the day off today. He cleaned so hard, I don't think he got a break!

6. Not that I am counting, but I only have 5 weeks left of student teaching after tomorrow! In a way this is jaw dropping, because I just can't believe graduation is finally here. In another way, I feel like I am blatantly ignoring the fact I will be a college graduate in 5 weeks. i.e.- I have yet to check into purchasing my cap, gown, and invitations. *Note to self- Probably should do that stuff.

7. I tried to get ahead in lesson plans so that I would not have to work on them while Jacob and Jenna are here, but alas, I'm still going to be working on them! Fortunately, I don't have any reflections or assignments for my synthesis class!

8. This past Sunday we got to worship with Zach's parents at their church. We then got to have a yummy lunch at Olive Garden! Always good to have family time!

9. Zach's parents also brought us supper Sunday night and got to check up on Nellie. She was so glad to see her grandparents!!

10. Neither one of us has gotten much sleep this week, so on that, note, we are going to bed now! (Which will still not be enough shut-eye time, unfortunately!)

We hope everyone has a great Friday!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
