Let's Play Catch up!

Starting with...
1. Labor day September 5th. We got to sleep in and then went out and about looking for a new bed/ mattress set! We found a great deal at Baumberger's and are still waiting for them to come in. : ( I know it's not been that long, but I just can't wait to get them and sleep on them!

2. That afternoon we went to Zach's parents to cook out. It was freezing, so I got a cold/sinus infection! Boo, but we still had fun!

3. This 4 day work week seemed every bit as long as a 5 day one!

4. I am developing a highly undesirable raccoon tan on my face from bus duty. I told my principal I needed compensation! Haha

5. Zach has night classes a couple of nights, so Nellie and I usually go on a walk and I do my elliptical. Then Nellie makes me super paranoid by walking around growling and cowering like she's scared. I thought she'd be my little fearless protector, but we're thinking not!

6. We picked out our bed and I actually went out and bought it on Friday. I was by myself in Zach's Explorer, so thank goodness that the ladies helped me pack the huge thing in. I was able to carry the rails in when I got home by myself, but the main part weighed over 100 lbs, so he had to help me with that. We put the headboard together tonight! I'll get pictures up as soon as we get our mattress in!

7. Zach worked Saturday, so Nellie and I went to Mama and Daddy's. Nellie stayed with her Grandpa while Mama and I went to my cousin,
Neil's, wedding shower. I think Nellie had lots of fun with Grandpa!

8. Today was the first Sunday that Zach has had Sunday off (except his surgery) since June. We got to go to church together and I can barely explain how happy I was to be in church with him worshipping together! Hopefully it won't be so long before his next Sunday off again!

9. Zach is settling in to his semester of school and I am falling into my routine at school. Pray that both continue to go well for us. I know I've said it before, but I am so proud of Zach going to school, and I hope he learns so much this semester!

10. I get my first paycheck this Friday! It's been a long while since my last summer camp check, so we are super excited and super ready for my "big" aide pay! God is so good! I am loving what I am doing and can not imagine doing anything else!

I hope everyone has a great week!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
