Ten on Thursday!

1. Here are a couple pictures from Zach's surgery. He is doing a little better, but is still so sore! He goes to the Dr. tomorrow for the second time this week and is scheduled to get the drain removed.

Here we are after they had placed his IV and had him changed into his fashionable hospital gown. (He was not liking it!)

Opening his basket from our Sunday school teacher, Jana! He loved it!

Nellie was cracking me up laying under the cover like this. She was laying by her Daddy making sure he was taken care of!

2. My Uncle Reid had a stem cell transplant today for his Leukemia. It sounds as if it went well and we are so glad! Praise the Lord! Now he must stay in the hospital for the next 100 days if all stays well!

3. Today two girls in the fourth grade (two of my third graders from when I was student teaching last year) seperately stared at my belly and said, "Mrs. Scheller, when are you going to have a baby?" Whoa. I know that my dress does not make me look so big I appear pregnant! Plus didn't those girls know I have been excercising my off to lose weight? So I can only reply, "Wait, do I look pregnant?" Sweet thing says that I don't! (Good answer!) Then I explained to her that Zach and I would probably wait a couple years especially Zach is still in school. She then replied in a totally serious manner, "Yeah, that is a really responsible thing to do. Plus, you don't want to ruin or keep him from his career or interfere with his school." Ha! Seriously? I had to hold back a laugh as I replied that she was so right. I then had the same conversation with my second girl. Sigh... Why are 4th graders so obsessed with babies? ; )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
