Long Road Home

On Saturday, Zach woke me up at 5:30 A.M. to get ready to come home.  I was so so tired and did NOT want to get up.  Somehow, though, he managed to get me in the car by 6:00.  We stopped by Durbin's on the way to get peaches for me and were doing so well until about an hour from Nashville.  We hit stand still traffic and it took us over 2 hours to go 3 miles.  We saw a herd of cows on the road at the beginning of the ordeal and when we finally got to where the wreck was, it was a semi with a cattle trailer than had flipped on its side across both sides of the highway.  Craziness!  We eventually got to Nashville where the road we needed was closed, and we had to shut Garmina up since she had no good advice, and navigated to the exit.  We didn't realize that Nashville was having a tax-free weekend like they had been having in Floride, so we didn't know why it took us 20 minutes to just get off the exit of Opry Mills!  You can imagine after all the driving and traffic we'd been through, we were a little fed up.  We went to Bass Pro Shop, where sadly, they were sold out of what Zach needed (boo!), ate in the food court, and then went to the Vera Bradley outlet.  I had wanted to get Zach's mom a bag to thank her for keeping Nellie this week and of course, just wanted to browse.  Zach and I really hate crowds though, so we did our best to get in and get out.  I didn't get to look around for myself, but I'm hoping to go back when it's NOT the craziest weekend to go shopping in Tennessee!  After Nashville, the rest of the trip was smooth sailing and I could not wait to see our Nellie Girl!! When we got to Zach's parents' house, they let Nellie out of her kennel, and she came flying into my lap and just was beside herself.  I have to say I was quite elated myself!  We missed her so much!  And... Zach's mom loved her bag!  We were happy about that too!  Thank you, Nana, for keeping our girl!!  She loved being home, but I am sure she missed being spoiled at Nana's house too!
The bag we picked for Zach's mom!
Finally back with my baby girl!
*We also took family pictures in Florida, but I forgot to post those! It's my bedtime for me though, so I'll get to that tomorrow!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
