Vacation 2013- Days 5 & 6

On Tuesday, It was Zach and I's turn to set up the EZ-Up tents on the beach. (Each couple/family tries to take a turn setting them up and we all use them.)  We got up at 6:30, which isn't unusual for me, but after a few days of sleeping in, it was rough!!! My Aunt Melody and cousin, Wesley, helped us set them up, and went back to their condo..  Then we watched a torrential downpour move its way down the beach towards us.  We laughed the whole time as we went from side to side of the tents to pour the water off where it was gathering.  We were sure if anybody was watching us,  they were getting a good laugh!  It cleared up after about 15 minutes and then rained like that again after a couple hours.  Luckily Wesley took up the job of getting the water off the tents so my Mama, Aunt Melody, and I could huddle under a blanket until it passed.  Then after it was over, it was sunny and beautiful the rest of the day.  Funny how the beach works that way.  We even saw 2 rainbows!   In the afternoon, Zach and I drove around for a quite a while trying to figure out what to do.  I was silly and wore a skirt, so I didn't really feel like doing any golfing or go-carting, so we ended up just going back to the condo.  We did end up playing Ping-Pong however, and I do think he had a blast doing that.  For any of you that don't know me in real life, I have no, read: NO, hand-eye coordination.  At all.  I can't hit the broad side of a barn... to save. my. life.  Point made?  Good.  You can understand then why Zach spent a good deal of time either doubled over in laughter or being red-faced from holding it all in.  We did have fun though, and I personally find him to be a pretty cute (and talented) player! Here's hoping our children get Daddy's hand-eye coordination!   For supper, everyone was going out to seafood, so Zach and I went to Carrabba's.  I got chicken marsala with garlic mashed potatoes and it was divine!!  Zach got manicotti, but never really defines food as "divine," so I don't know what he thought!  Haha!  Today was my cousin-in-law, Jamie's, birthday, so we all met back up together to celebrate and have cake and ice cream.  Afterwards, Suzanne, Zach, Jonathan, and I played MadGab since all the other party-poopers wanted to play cards!

                                                        Ross was singing to Eden.
Zach even read a book while we were in Florida!

                                                              And he finished it!!
Elizabeth was laughing at this selfie, but I realized when you're the one taking pictures, it's hard to get into any of them!

On Wednesday, we had more beach time and went mini-golfing after supper.

We found this tee-ninsy little friend!  We couldn't believe how small it was!
Can you tell how hot it was there?  So humid!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
