Weekly wrap-up August 11-16

Sunday we went to church and then ate at Mama Joyce's.  I took a nice long nap when we got home and soaked up every last minute before the first day of school!  I got really excited to see my kids the next morning.

Monday was the first day of school and I started bright and early with my first bus duty of the year.  I got so much done in my classroom and got some new things assembled!  When I'm totally finished with my room, I will post pictures since it looks a lot different from last year!  We went to Qdoba that night to celebrate the first day.

On Tuesday after school I took care of something that has slowly become an issue for the last 6 months.  I went to the eye Dr.!  If you know me at all, you know I've always prided myself on my 20/20 vision.  Well, that era of my life has apparently come to an end.  My two new pair of glasses should be in sometime next week.  I'm sure it was quite funny to watch me pick out my frames.  I was so incredibly picky and though everything looked bad, and the girl helping me told me everything looked good.  I was getting all worked up!  Let's hope they look good!  That will be the determining factor if I post pictures or not!  I am pretty excited to see how I look in them.... and also, just to be able to see! Haha!

On Wednesday after school we went to Olive Garden for Suzanne's 21st birthday!  Then everyone came back to our house to do presents and cake!  As you can imagine, Nellie simply thought everyone was there to see her.

Polo shoes from us!

Nellie was being ridiculous with her Uncle Ross. She was throwing herself all over him!

Rotten girl!

New coach bag!

Happy 21st birthday to my favorite sister, Zach's favorite sister-in-law, and Nellie's favorite aunt!

Thursday night we went to Lowe's to pick out Tile for our bathroom floor and our new vanity.  We decided on both and that in itself thrilled me.  It's all currently in our living room and Zach hopes to get it finished next week! Yay!  I can't wait till all is said and done and I can show it off!  It might be a while still until we get the walls all finished!

That brings us to tonight. I made sloppy joes and lemon pie for supper and drank like half a pot of coffee during the whole process!  Oops!  Zach got really sunburned today and is sore from hauling logs so we have literally just lounged around and I have gotten super caught up on blogging!  Go me!!! : )  Now he is of course wide awake after lying in bed for two hours and I am still not calmed down from all that caffeine.  Although, I get to sleep in tomorrow, so it doesn't even matter what time I get to bed!  That's what I call an awesome Friday night.  Are we old, or what? : )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
