Happy Halloween!

First, I must give props to my Mama, because she ended up being the one who sewed my entire costume.  I pretty much did nothing other than cut out all the pieces!  Isn't my Mama awesome?
Today at school.  Everyone, especially the kids loved my costume.  I spent the entire day speaking what I considered to be a very good Snow White voice.  I got so many hugs from little ones!  I also carried an apple around and pretended like I was about to take a bite to see kids' reactions and many of them shouted, "No! Don't eat it! It's poisoned!"  I thought that was pretty hilarious!
Apparently I'm just asking for a deep sleep!
When I got home, I subjected Nellie to her Halloween costume from last year and we had a photo shoot.  We were quite bored since Daddy was working and since there were no trick-or-treaters.  (They postponed trick-or-treating until tomorrow due to severe storms!  I HATE storms!)
I realize she look terrified here, but I promise she was fine.  She shed the hat about 15 seconds later and then I ended her torture of the sweater about 5 minutes later.  I just can't resist the urge to dress her up since she's so cute.
I stole this picture from my friend, Stephanie!  We all got together after school to snap a picture.  As you can see, we had a pretty diverse group of costumes!!  I love that where I work we are all willing to have fun and dress up.  The kids also got to dress up as their favorite book characters, so it was just such a fun day!!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
