Weekly Wrap Up October 20-26

I almost forgot to cover this week, and that would have been a shame!  It's one of my favorite weeks!

On Monday, Zach's dad turned the big 5-0!  His birthday party was on Saturday, and I was snapping pictures with Zach's mom's camera, so I have none to show!!  Oops!

Tuesday was my Granddaddy's 90th birthday!  A pretty awesome accomplishment!  My Daddy went to see him and I called to wish him a happy birthday.  He said that 90 is not feeling too different from 89! Haha!

Tuesday also marked 6 years since Zach and I officially started "going steady," "courting," "going out..."  Whatever you want to call it.  My sweet man brought me this home...
(The chair, not the adorable beagle!)
Every time we went to Rural King I would Ooh and Ahh over this yard chair.  It was so sweet of him to remember and get it for me.

I bet you can tell how much Nellie loves photo shoots with Mama! ; )
On Friday, I got to go on a field trip to Trunnell Farms with 2nd grade.  One of the teachers was out, so instead of getting a sub, our principal put me in charge.  I was pretty excited!  It felt good to have a class of my own! (If only for a day!)
Lori and I rode the tractor bikes... My knees were up to my chest!
The kid picking out their small pumpkins and gourds!

The kids loved it!
Saturday we were pretty lazy the whole day.  We were supposed to go to my cousin's wedding on Saturday evening, but Zach's dad's party got planned for the same day and we couldn't do both.  : (   The party went well though, and lot's of Zach's family got to come.  We got worn out early and were home in bed by 9:00!  We're just party animals, I guess! ; )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
