What I did this weekend...

May not seem like much, but I loved it all the same.  We went to see Catching Fire Saturday morning and I am still soaking up all its awesomeness.  I honestly not expecting the sheer delight I experienced while watching it.  They very nearly matched it to the book to a tee. (almost!)  That make me so, so happy.  I am a nerd, and it's okay.  I also made everyone in the theater laugh out loud when I screamed during a certain monkey scene.  Haha!  I also jumped and according to Zach, dug my claws nails into his arm.  There were so many intense, riveting scenes.  I just loved it!!!  Then the rest of the day I napped (I know this is sad!) and Zach went hunting.  We ordered pizza and watched Here Comes the Boom!  It is soo good, too!

Sunday was an interesting day.  We were leaving early for me to play hand bells at church.  I was also going to be super sweet and pick-up doughnuts for everybody from Donut Bank.  Enter the sucky part.  As I am starting to turn, Zach shouts "You are about the hit.... crash...the curb."  I flattened my tire and my poor husband was rolling around the freezing cold ground and trying to get the jack under my car.  Fairly soon we decided to just call AAA because it would be so much easier!  My mom (Poor thing) ran over to Evansville to get me (and the donuts) so we could get handbells while Zach waited with the car.  They got it changed out and he went ahead to Wal-Mart and got a new tire and oil change... and still made it back for the "big church" service.  (We can go ahead and laugh that I still call the service that!)   We ate lunch at Mama Joyce's and came home to rest.  Then we went to Zach's parents' to decorate their Christmas tree and have supper.  Zach's sister and her family were there too, so we got to see our niece and nephews!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
