Weekly Wrap-Up

Monday we went to Qdoba and then to the new Roger's Galleria to get my ring checked.  It was so gorgeous and sparkley inside!  (Spell check is telling me that sparkley is not a word, but we all know it is!)  I got my ring sent off to be re-dipped and my finger feels so naked with only my wedding band on!

Tuesday was Strengthening Families night.  It was our 8th week, so we only have 2 left!  It really has gone by so quickly.  I love seeing the families benefiting from all the things we have talked about.  I know that it has really helped some (and hopefully all) of them.

Wednesday and Thursday were really non-eventful days.  Nothing out of the ordinary, but still good days all the same.

Friday I went to Chick-fil-a and while waiting on Mama and Suzanne at Kohl's, I meandered into Petsmart.  Mistake!  A huge mistake... because if one wanders into Petsmart, one will hear puppies, then hold the puppies, and want to take one home.   And then one will be sad when their husband replies a firm "No!" to the text of said cute puppy.  I will give a shout out to New Hope Animal Rescue Center though, as they were the ones bringing the puppies.  They had some cute pups and a couple of sweet adult dogs up for adoption!  If you are looking for an animal to adopt, contact them.  If I could, I'd have taken them all! (And Zach would have had me institutionalized! Ha!)

Moving along, we looked around Kohl's but didn't find much, so then I headed home to help Zach pack up.  We spent the night at my parents' house so we he could go hunting in the morning.  While he was hunting,  I ran errands with Mama Joyce and my sister and I went to Memories Christmas Open House.  Then when I got back, Zach and I went out hunting again.  He saw several does that he could have shot, but passed on all of them.  Once we were both sufficiently frozen and wind-burnt, we headed back to my parents'.  I fixed healthy sloppy joes (I loooooove them) for supper and we watched the puppers play.  Thanks to Mama and Daddy for letting their favorite daughter, son-in-law, and grandpup stay! ; )

Sunday, Zach had to work (BOO!), AND my Mama had to work (BOO again!), so I picked up my Mama Joyce and we went to Sunday School and Church.  When I picked Mama Joyce up, I dropped Nellie off, and she was a naughty girl.  Mama Joyce has a double oven, and the lower one is practically on the floor.  Mama Joyce had a baking pan fully of chicken and sauce in the oven, ready for me to pre-set it when I came in.  Ya'll know where this is going, I assume?  I hear licking, slurping sounds, and a holler from Mama Joyce, and run in to find Nellie quickly licking all the sauce off of the raw chicken.  Gag!  She only got to one piece, so, yes, we went ahead and cooked it.  We figured the heat would kill all the germs, and naturally, you can guess which piece I ate at lunch.  Yes, I love that darn dog... maybe a little too much.  And lest ya'll fear she got off scott-free, I spanked her bottom big-time!  There's no denying that it was pretty funny though! : )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
