Valentine's Day and the Quickest Weekend Ever

Valentine's morning I treated myself to a heart-shaped chicken biscuit from Chick-fil-a.  They were BOGO free AND I got a survey for a free chicken sandwich.  That in and of itself made my day! : )

Friday evening Zach and I tried to go out for Valentine's Day.  We thought we were early enough to beat the rush, but it turned out we weren't.   We ended up going back home with a quick stop through Donut Bank to get dessert and then we had a DiGiorno pizza and watched the Olympics.  Can you feel the romance? Haha.

                                                       My Valentine!
Saturday morning began gloriously at 9:20 a.m. It seems like it's been forever since I slept that late, but it was wonderful!  I met my friend, Jennifer, and her (practically) brand new baby at Tumbleweed.  She and her husband are stationed in Hawaii and she is in for a little while.  Little Peter was so adorable and sweet!  I was so busy holding him I didn't get a picture!  Trust me, though, he is one of the most gorgeous baby boys I've ever seen!   We stayed and talked for 3 hours, so I'll apologize now to our server.  At least they weren't very busy while we were there!   That night we went out again with our "Spanish Club." It includes all of us who work Summer Camp.  We ended up with a pretty short wait at Cheeseburger in Paradise, which is sort of amazing considering there were 8 + a highchair and it was Valentine's weekend! Thank goodness for call-ahead seating!
Natalie is always the life of the party.  She was also looking ahead to the next holiday already! Her shirt reads, "Kiss Me, I'm Irish!"

On Sunday, Zach worked and Nellie and I went ahead to Henderson for church.  Well, Nellie went to Mama Joyce's, of course! ; ) After church, we had a yummy lunch of chicken and rice, and then I decided I was going to get things accomplished.  I cranked up the music and primed 3 walls in our affectionately coined "blue room."  The wood paneling is much preferred to the underlying plaster, and I know it's going to look awesome when we get it done.  Just one more wall to go and then I'll have to start picking out paint! I was pretty impressed with myself for accomplishing this instead of my usual choice on a Sunday when Zach is working. (A nice, long nap! : ))
2 of the walls all primed up!  Ignore the changing and craft table!
How Nellie spent her time while I was painting!  It was hilarious to watch her get comfortable on top of Fred!

Zach surprised us by getting off early and he was surprised by my paint job!  We got to relax the rest of the night and he even voluntarily turned the Olympics on for me!  It was so sweet to see our two guys take the Alpine Medals.  And can we talk about how cute Bode Miller and his wife are?  So sweet!

  1. Love the way your house is looking. I like the paint job over the panels :)

    1. Thanks! We've been working hard on it! I joked with Zach at this rate, we'll have it all fixed up about the time we're ready to move out! Haha!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
