Weekend Recap

I already posted earlier about babysitting this past weekend, and I guess that about summed it up.  On Friday, we ate with Zach's parents and played rummy.  It was so funny because on the way over there I told him I was craving his mom's fettucine alfredo, and that is what she made!  So delicious!

On Saturday we were super lazy and slept until around 8:00.  I made pancakes, which turned out better than they usually do.  (Of all the the thing I cook well, I always seem to screw up pancakes.  How does someone even mess those up?)  We then went to Lowe's where we bought primer for the affectionately coined "blue room" aka our second biggest bedroom.  It has wood paneling, but seeing as there is plaster underneath, it's going to look a lot better to just paint over the paneling.  I still haven't decided on a paint color, but have decided that I am just going to prime it for now and then pick a color later on this year.

I had to be at the kids' house to babysit at 2:00, so I had to kiss both my loves goodbye and tear myself away from leave them.  I love watching these kids, but I so do not like being away from Zach and Nellie overnight!  I had lots of fun with the kiddos and had lots of fun things planned to do with them.  I took my Cricut and we cuts out ton of shapes for them to color, we made homemade play-doh, and make cookies.  They were loving it!  Owen kept asking if he could really keep the play-doh after I went home.  So sweet!  The night went pretty uneventfully with me only waking up once, and the kids were up and at 'em at 6:30.  Their parents got home and I was back with Zach and Nellie by noon.  Then we went to Qdoba (Don't worry, I already fessed up on our cheating on another NSM post!)  We came back home and I had a glorious hour and a half nap with Nellie and Zach and then cooked our yummy supper of Two Timin' Pasta Bake.

The weekend literally flew by leaving me little time to actually feel like I accomplished much, but thankfully this next weekend is all clear to spend with my sweet lil' family! : )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

5 years ago today...

Zach took me on our first date.  We met at the very end of August when we started college at USI.  It wasn't until September we really began to hang out, and then we began to talk about going on a date.  He worked at Gander Mtn. that had just opened up in Evansville.  I had been wanting to go shopping there and couldn't find the store.  Once Zach mentioned that he might be able to take me if I wanted, I definitely stopped trying to find the store on my own. ; )  The week we went, he worked every day of the week, except for one.  He told me he would take me on his one day off.  We drove to Gander first and we shopped around.  I tried on snow hats and Zach bought me a Gander cap.  Then we were driving back toward USI and Zach asked me if I had ever driven stick shift before.  He pulled into Roberts' Stadium parking lot and told me he was going to teach me.  I remember thinking, "This boy must be crazy if he is letting me drive hi...
