Weekly Wrap- Up (March 31- April 4)

Monday was the first day back from Spring Break and it was a looooong one.  I woke up at 4:00 a.m. and couldn't really go back to sleep after that, which majorly sucked.  Nooooot the best way to start back.  The day was good, though, and I got lots of hugs from my sweet kids! : )  Once I got home, I decided I was going to be productive, and I cooked our meals for the week.  I made spinach manicotti, sloppy joe, and tuscan garlic chicken.  They are some of our favorite meals and are relatively healthy (okay, except for the garlic chicken) and are just. so. good.  Bonus points to me for impressing Zach and making him salivate from the moment he entered the door!
All our meals!

Tuesday was good up until the point when Zach called to tell me that his truck had died at USI and I needed to come get him.  It was already 8:15, so by the time I got there it was 8:30 and we waited with the truck until AAA got there to tow it to our house.  Then we hauled ourselves to his parents' house to borrow their extra truck for him to use.  Thank goodness for them!  We were struggling with the idea of somehow splitting one vehicle. (A little hard to do when you are in separate counties all days!)  We finally got home a little after 10 p.m. and I made a white chocolate strawberry pie to have Wed. with Zach's parents.  We crashed a little before midnight and I prayed that there would be a freak reason for a 2- hour delay the next day.  There was no such luck.

Wednesday we went out to eat supper with Zach's parents at Little Italy.  I didn't try a new entree this time, but had the spinach ravioli yet again.  I am determined to keep trying something new next time we go!  We came back to the house to hang out and have the pie.  Nellie was naturally thrilled because obviously Nana and Poppy only came to see her, and not her parents.  ; )  She thinks that's why anybody ever comes over!

Thursday was my Mama's 55th birthday, so we went to Mama Joyce's to celebrate with some fondue!!  I also made her a cookie cake because chocolate chip cookies are her favorite!

Ross putting on the necklace that he got her.

She wanted a napkin holder.  Maybe not a cow one, but that's what we found.  haha!  We also got her a decorative bowl and are going to get her some of her Corelle dishes if she can find them!

Suzanne got her a new Vera Bradley!
We celebrated Daddy's birthday on Friday, but his was really on Saturday. (He wanted to be able to concentrate on the UK game Saturday I think! ; ))
Daddy and his turtle pie!

Suzanne got him a Western Pinnit!

Sadly I don't even remember what Ross got him!

Proof that I still have siblings!  (And Eric was there, too!)

Happy birthdays to both of my wonderful parents!  I am glad I am the child who gets to share a birthday week with ya'll!  (After all, we all know I was ya'lls best ever belated b-day present!) ; )

It was a busy (and kinda long) week, but a good one!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
