Bumpdate: Week 23

How Far along: 23 weeks

Baby's size: Grapefruit (Daddy does NOT like these!)

Weight loss/gain: Gained, then lost a lb.  Not sure how to explain that. Still at the weight of pre-pregnancy.  Kind of crazy to me, but I'm not complaining if he's growing and healthy!(Update: Dr.'s scales say I'm up 3 lbs, but ours at home disagree... plus I was fully clothed when they weighed me.)

Dr. appt- My blood pressure was 107/70 and they acted like it was low.  I told them that that was what mine usually was!  He measured my belly with the tape measure for the first time and that measured right on track. Heartbeat was right at 140!

Sleep: I'm doing a little better at getting back to sleep after my nightly bathroom break.

Gender: Little brother to this girl!

Movement:  He's moving and grooving, and some days I feel more than others.  Zach felt him for the FIRST TIME this week!  Or at least he was pretty sure he did.  I would tell him as soon as he kicked, and Zach did feel once.  It was so light, and any of you that have felt for baby kicks like that know how hard it is to know what you're feeling, especially since they're still not the hugest movements!

Best Moment of this week: Definitely having Monday off! We (Nellie and I) didn't go anywhere, and I don't think I ever got past getting dressed in anything but work out clothes, but we got a lot done!  I made Zach his very own burp cloths with fabric he picked out.  It was nothing I would ever pick, but is perfect for Zach!  (And hello, how sweet is it that he chose fabric he liked?)

Looking Forward:  To the weekend!  It's going to be a little busy, but that's okay!

Food cravings: Nothing in particular!

Weirdest Food I ate last week: Nothing!

Anything making you feel sick or queasy: Nope! Thank goodness! : )

Symptoms: Just lower back pain, but wearing my ever-so-stylish maternity support hose help a good bit!

Workouts: Does work count as a workout? I stand and walk around for 8 hours!  If it's not, it's starting to feel like one!

What I miss: nothing that I can think of!

Things that stink: Waking up early all the time! It's wearing me out!

Things that don't stink: Feeling baby boy move around.  Zach felt him another 2 or 3 times the other night and it was so sweet!  Melted my heart!

Mama's Thoughts: Right now I feel like we have so much time, but I think once we hit 25 weeks and the third trimester I'm going to realize we are running out of time to do things!

Daddy's Thoughts: Zach is putting a lot of thought into what baby's first gun will be! : )  So sweet that he is excited about that!

Baby:I feel like I am neglecting him because everything I read says I should be talking to him.  I do on occasion, but it just seems weird! I think he'll know my voice, though, since I talk all day long at school! ; )   And he'll absolutely know Nellie's voice! ; )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
