Ten on Thursday... on Friday

1. First of all, the reason I am a day late on this is because yesterday was filled with school and then babysitting until 1 this morning!

2. Second, Zach and I would like to introduce the newest addition to our family! We got our little girl on Wednesday and it has been a whirlwind ever since! Her name is Nellie and the people we got her from said she was born in August. So she is about 11 weeks old. She is an adorable little Beagle Hound.

3. Nellie is going to be a house dog and I have never had one inside before. We need some good tips for house training and crate training.

4. I signed up for the Praxis II tests today. They are tests bases on Elementary Ed Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment along with two tests for my reading minor. I am so nervous for them and hope to find some good study stuff! (I kind of have to pass them to get my teaching license after all! : ) )

5. Zach is loving his new job! I am so thankful that he is doing something he enjoys! We are so grateful that he has the opportunity to work in this down economy!

6. About an hour after we brought Nellie home Zach was already on the computer searching "How to train your beagle dog to hunt rabbits." I think we both have different agendas for her!

7. Tomorrow at church we are having a "Road Rally" which is like a scavenger hunt where you drive from place to place following clues until you get to the final destinaion, where supper is served. It should be fun!

8. Tomorrow is also the first day of muzzleloading in Kentucky, so that is Zach's plan for tomorrow while I'm at the road rally with Mama, Daddy, and Mama Joyce.

9. I hate going to Wal-Mart, which I may have mentioned before. I have heard that in big cities you can order your food online and they deliver it to your door. If only we had oodles of money, I would so do that! haha, nice to dream, huh?

10. I found out where I am student teaching in the spring. I will be at Loge School in Boonville, IN. For those of you that this means nothing to, it is 20 miles from our house! I was a little upset when I found out because I was expecting to be in Evansville. There were so few spaces in Evansville though, several people were placed in neighboring counties. I will be with a first grade classroom for 8 weeks and a third grade classroom for the last 8 weeks. I am trying to get excited for it because I know it'll still be a great experience!  It's just always nerve-wracking when you don't know anyone there!

That's all for now! I will try to post some pictures of our sweet Nellie girl later today!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
