Ten on Thursday

1. Zach started his new job today and we are so excited! The best part it, he was home by 2:30 today! : )

2. Last night I knocked my computer off the ottoman and the device I use to get internet broke. For good. Ugh, now I have to either find another little device or get a new computer. Gonna go with option 1 for now!

3. This week in Evansville they are holding the "West Side Nut Club Fall Festival." It is a lot like tri-fest in Henderson, except on CRACK! They expect you to pay parking, where any other time of the year you would never have to pay. Can we say selfish? So any who, Zach and I were obviously determined to not pay for parking, so we drove around for 20 or so minutes looking for places to park. We finally settled on the Walgreens about 5 blocks away, but hey, we got free parking AND exercise! I ate a corn dog and caramel apple, pretty tame, but Zach got a bratwurst with sauerkaut and a brain sandwich. Not my kinds of food!

4. Our house is a mess, and I was wondering how long we'll get to use the excuse, "Well, we just moved in." I'm going to estimate I can use this for another couple months!

5. I am going to make pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, and cherry delight tonight. I loooove pumpkin products and can't wait to eat some!

6. I have started to design our Christmas Cards for this year and they are going to be so cute! Or very nice, in case Zach reads this! : )

7. I realized that we may actually have trick-or-treaters for halloween this year! Since my parents lived out in the county, no one ever came to see us, so it could be fun if we have visitors this year!

8. Zach and I may go to see his Uncles' new house up in Illinois this weekend.

9. We are also cat sitting this weekend.

10. I found my #1 item for my Christmas list this week! A Nook from Barnes and Noble! Or an Amazon Kindle! Haven't decided which one I'd like best yet!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
