Ten on Thursday

1. This weekend we didn't plan on handing out candy, but then felt guilty when we saw all of the cute little trick-or-treaters walking around. We ran to the store and got lots of candy. We only had 13 or 14 kids!! Oh well, I am giving the rest of candy to the little girl I tutor on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

2. One of the girls that trick-or-treated at our house saw Nellie and exclaimed, "Isn't Nellie a handful of precious!" It was so sweet and had us laughing.

3. On Tuesday when I was at tutoring, the word unjustly was in the book we were reading. I asked her if she knew what justice was, and she replied, "Actually, it's like a girl's store in the mall!" Oh, how I love the things kids say!

4. Zach informed me last night that it was "no shave November!" He tried to do this last year and didn't last long, so let's hope for the same this year! ; )

5. Nellie turned 3 months old today! Her most recent interests are:
-Running behind the couch and unplugging the lamp
-Diving under our bed and retrieving anything between water bottles, socks, or screw driver.
-Running circles around Mama and Daddy!

6. Tomorrow will be Zach's first payday with his new job! All we can say is Hallelujah! We are so thankful to our Lord for providing for us and seeing us through this time. We had what we needed and worked hard to make it last, but know we couldn't have done it without our wonderful and great God!

7. Today I went to Wal-Mart and they had their Christmas tree up! Tis' the season! But we definitely can't forget Thanksgiving!

8. My Mama got me a pumpkin and I carved it the night before Halloween. I didn't have a good small knife so I just made a nice face on it! I'll have to get a picture up of it later!

9. Zach only has 2 weeks of training left until his training is complete! Then he will be all on his own. (I think!)

10. This weekend we are going to work on cleaning our house! My cousin, Wesley, is having his ordination to a minister this weekend as well. It is in Alabama though and we sadly won't be able to go! We'll definitely be thinking of him though!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
