Ten on Thursday

1. It was quite warm today in the Hoosier state. The high temp record was broken that was set in 1927. I think it was 79 degrees today and the record was 77.

2. Nellie has a new favorite hobby: Watching the toilet flush... weird, I know!

3. Tomorrow is Zach's first day on the job by himself! Woo hoo! He passed all of his tests for certification. Anybody want DirecTV? ; )

4. Today my group for teaching science and math presented our Concept exploration project on baking. It is such a weight off of my mind that we have it done and won't have to worry about it over Thanksgiving break!

5. Surprisingly Zach is still participating in "No Shave November!" I have got to take a picture and post it because I don't think I've ever seen his face so furry!

6. Next week I am filling in at the daycare for a friend who is going on bed rest for a week! So at least that's some money in the bank for Christmas!

7. Zach and I are babysitting some of my favorite kids from the daycare Saturday night! The oldest is 3 and he is a ball of energy! Then there are twin girls who just turned 1! It's going to be a fun night and I told Zach he could get a little preview of what a boy or girl would be like!

8. Next week is the last full week of classes before Thanksgiving "break!" Not a true break, but I will take it! We still don't know whose family we are going to go to and if we can do both in one day! I just know we better figure it out soon!

9. As mentioned in my previous post, I am planning our Christmas Card for this year! I still haven't been able to decide on a layout! Shutterfly has too many cute ones! Zach of course isn't surprised since he always says I take forever to pick out anything whether it is my outfit for the day or what we will have for supper!

10. The Praxis II is now only 2 days away! Wish me luck because I'm sure I could use some! Better go study some more!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
