Ten on Thursday

1. Remember how last time I said it was warm here? Scratch that! Now it is freezing and has been raining the past couple days. Time to get out my coat, scarves, hats, and gloves! I love the cold! (Just wish it would snow instead of rain.)

2. I got the Praxis II tests over with this past Saturday. I actually did try really hard when I was studying and I think it payed off on the tests. I will get my results back in about 3 weeks.

3. Zach's truck died yesterday. The mechanic said it's the transmission, which is of course the worst possible thing they could say! With his new job he has to have the truck to do the installations, so thankfully he will be able to ride with other guys for a few days to help them out. At least he's still getting to work!

4. After yesterday, it is just more and more apparent our luck is rotten lately. We aren't letting it get us down though and are trusting and knowing the Lord will get us through this time, which we hope will end soon!

5. Nellie is getting better at sitting on command al the time! Of course you have to give her a treat afterwards or she gets whiny! She turned 15 weeks yesterday!
She loves:

  • Peanut butter in her bouncy dumbbell toy

  • Snuggling in bed with us before bedtime (Don't worry, she doesn't sleep with us at night!)

  • When either one of us gets home from being gone all day. Her little tail wags 100 miles an hour!

  • Eating her puppy pads!
6. I got out our Christmas tree that my friend gave us and put part of it together to see how it would look. Zach thought it looked okay, but it is definitely not as big as I imagined! We may just use it for this year and get one when they go on sale after Christmas.

7. Zach gave up on No shave November last week. I was so disappointed.... ; ) I think it has already grown back to what it was though, so hopefully he shaves it off soon!

8. This past Saturday after I took the tests, Zach and I babysat and had so much fun! The twins went to bed at 6:30, so it was just us and the 3 year old. He and Zach had so much fun watching Shrek! They would just laugh and laugh! It was just a preview of what we'll hopefully have someday! (Although we don't necessarily have to have twins, just one at a time!) : )

9. We are doing Thanksgiving with Zach's family this year. I will miss getting to go Black Friday shopping in Alabama with everybody, but hopefully we will be able to do it next year!

10. I am going to come up with my list of things I'm thankful for soon, so keep an eye out for it!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
