Introducing our Ten on Thursday

So, I've seen a couple people do something called "Ten on Thursday" or any other number that starts with the same letter as a day of the week. I am just going to try out doing 10, and if that doesn't work, I'll find one with less! : )

1. Well, Zach and I have been on a vicious mouse hunt since I spotted the little mongrel last Thursday morning. At the time I was bound and determined to have him caught by the next morning. Well, this mouse, deemed, "Jerry" was very clever and ate the peanut butter off of the mouse traps 3 days in a row. Needless to say I was less than impressed with our 4 mouse traps for $1.00 deal! haha, lesson learned there I guess! Some things you just can't skimp on! So anyway, last night Zach and I got sticky traps and this morning, voila... the little mouse was stuck on it! I was going to take a picture to post, but thought that may be a little crude! : ) So anyway, my brave husband took care of it, and as far as we can tell we are a mouse-free home again! Yay!! : )

2. This week I started my fourth (and last) year of college!! I am taking 18 hours again with 2 night classes, 1 late afternoon class, 1 online class, and 2 classes that meet in the middle of the day. It is definitely weird only having two classes that meet during the day.

3. Driving to school is also MUCH different than living on campus. It was so nice to be able to wake up at 8:30 for a 9:00 class and then simply run on up to campus. Parking at good ole USI can be summed up in one word: Nightmare! And I'm not even sure that quite covers it. I was warned by friends that have already been commuting for a while that you had to get there SUPER early to get a spot, but WOW I had no idea it could be as bad as it was! On Tuesday, I had to drive around for 20 minutes and only got a spot because I happened across a person pulling out of a spot! I was also on the other side of campus from my class and then had to walk/run to barely make it to my class on time! Today however, I got a spot right near my building as soon as I arrived! (Although I DID leave at 9:30 today for my 10:30 class!)

4. Zach is sooooo excited for Deer season. When we lay in bed at night he will ask, "Are you excited for deer season? I am!" haha, I can't say I am counting down the hours like he is, but I am glad he has something to look forward to.

5. Tonight we had our friends, Ryan and Kayleigh, over for supper. I made Lasagna and a White chocolate strawberry pie. The pie turned out so cute and tasted so light and fluffy! I meant to get a picture of it to post, but we had already cut our pieces by the time I thought of it!

6. Tomorrow we are going out to eat with our friends, Christine and Cole, to Olive Garden for the never-ending pasta bowls! I know I will only eat the one bowl, but it is a great price and Christine and I LOVE their Pumpkin Cheesecake that they have in the fall, so we always get it and split a piece! It is uh-maz-ing! If you like pumpkin, you have to try it!

7. My retainers won't fit. Well my top one for my teeth won't. I didn't wear it at all for about two weeks and that was a bad thing. If my teeth get crooked now after all the orthodontic work I've had my mom is going to kill me!

8. My aunts and uncles on my mom's side bought us 8 place settings of our China for our wedding and it arrived in the mail this past week! Now if only we will have an occasion to use it.

9. I hate not having a dishwasher. In our next house, we are not buying/building it without a big honking space for a dishwasher!!!

10. This weekend is a four day weekend for us since I don't have class tomorrow! Wahoo!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
