Our Honeymoon

Here are the pictures I could pick as good enough to share! I took way too many! We stayed in a cabin in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee and had a wonderful, relaxing time. We both had to agree though it was so weird not being on vacation with our families. We are ready to go back any time! (I don't think either one of us wanted to come home!)

Heading off to the honeymoon with my new husband!! : )

Finally stopped for the night in Lebanon, TN!

Zach was in heaven!

The Bass Pro Shop speaks the truth!

Before we went out to supper.

One night we had supper at Fuddrucker's, which I had never heard of before. It was really good though!

Zach showing his skill at Ripley's Farm mini-golf.

This was the sky when we about half way through the course...

...and this was the sky 5 minutes later! We JUST made it to the car and it started pouring.

We also got to go to Ripley's Aquarium!

We happened to be there at feeding time, so that was cool to watch!

Us in the tunnel.

These bad boys were enormous and we were fascinated by them!

This was the first person I asked to take our picture! She was the first of many!

Self-portrait on the sky lift.

Once again I got someone to take our picture! People were thankfully willing to help us out!

This was the view on the way back down the sky lift! Beautiful, but Zach didn't like me belting out "On top of Old Smoky," while up there! ; )

We also went to Ripley's Believe it or Not while in Gatlinburg.

Here I am in front of the world's longest gum wrapper chain, which I wanted a pic with because when I was little, I was determined to make the longest one. After seeing this, I can admit mine was only like 5 feet, not miles and miles!

Robert Wadlow is the world's tallest man at 8'11'' and I am a measly 5'6'' in comparison.

Haha, somehow I only got Zach standing in the fun house mirror.

One night we were just too tired to go out to eat, so we just fixed supper at the cabins. Zach grilled steak, and I fixed the corn and broccoli with rice. (And yes, it came out of a bag!) It was so yummy!

Zach grilling.

Zach getting everything on the table.

A very nice biker man took our picture at the top of the dome!

He was even sweet enough to take a second one zoomed in! We appreciated it!

So here's the story about "the sign." My parents went to the Smoky Mountains for their honeymoon as well. So when we told them we had chosen to go there, they said we needed to get our picture in front of Clingman's dome with the sign just like they did. (Which would have been fun to compare!) BUT, we hike up the .5 mile very steep hill and get to where the sign should have been according to their picture, and...no sign. So this is the sign we found and took pictures in front of!

Zach with the sign.

So here I am with the only Clingman's Dome sign we could find!

By the time we got back into town that afternoon, it was around 2:00, and we were ready for lunch. We went to "Mama's Farmhouse" and with it being past the lunch rush, we had no wait! It was a homestyle restaraunt so they just brought out dishes of everything, and you served yourself out of them. They had fried chicken, chicken fried steak, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes (yuck!), green beans, macaroni and cheese... you name it, they had it. Then there was also peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream for dessert! It was yummy, but I was so tired from our long day I just wanted to go home and take a nap! As you can see in this next picture, Zach was loving it!

Ready to dig in after the hard day at Clingman's dome!

The aftermath of all Mama had to offer! Ha!

This night we went out to Olive Garden and did a little bit of shopping.

The sign, which is decieving, because the hike is 2.5 miles there, and then 2.5 back. Let's just say ONE of us was not as psyched as the other one was for the journey ahead. : )

Abrams Falls, which I am not sure was worth a 5 mile trek! Just sayin'.

Self portrait with the falls in the background.

PLEASE note that Zach's sweat collected in a heart shape on his shirt. We cracked up for several minutes when we noticed! Thanks to the nice lady who took our picture.

After the 5 mile Hike. I think our faces say it all.

I had my area of expertise at the arcade...

...And Zach had his.

We mastered taking pictures of ourselves during the week!

Zach's supper. He hated it when I took pictures of our food instead of letting him eat it! : )

Our last supper in Pigeon Forge!

This was Saturday morning right before we headed home. We didn't want to leave!

This was the inside of the cabin we stayed in. It was really nice and quiet!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
