Ten on Thursday

Happy Thursday!
1. We have great news! Zach got a job that starts next thursday! He will work for Direct TV installing satellite systems. He hopes to do this until he can re-apply for the electrical union next year.

2. I will be subbing at the daycare where I used to work next week. They called because they are short staffed, so I guess I will welcome the opportunity to make a little money!

3. I am actually ready for fall this year. After this incredibly HOT summer, it is nice to feel a little chill in the air! I am also looking forward to decorating for all of the major holidays coming up! I think it is a little different and more exciting when it's your own home!

4. Zach's family reunion was good this weekend. I even remembered some of the people's names from last year. There was lots of good food and conversation.

5. While at the family reunion, Zach and I took Aubrie fishing. For some reason he was using "snack stiks" as bait. These are basically the odds and ends cut off of jerky that are packaged and sold really cheap. Well, guess who loved them? Aubrie! It was so precious, each time she would say, "Can I have just one more!" To which of course I replied, "Yes, one more!" They were a little spicy though so I did try to keep from giving her too many of them.

6. Zach made Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches for supper and they were pretty good! We couldn't find the kind of canned cheese that people put on them at carnivals, but we got something that was kind of similar.

7. Tomorrow we are going to mow the grass at Mama Joyce's and maybe, just maybe if it is warm enough we will hop in the pool for a swim before it has to be closed up for the season.

8. We have a spider who lives outside our kitchen door right under the light. If you know me, I stomp on spiders and giggle with glee usually, but for once I am looking at things logically. Number 1, he is not in my house. Number 2, he is not hurting me and never gets out of his web. Number 3, He is always out when I get back from night class or if we go to wal-mart in the evening, so in a way he is kind of like our little greeter. So therefore, I am going to let him live out his little spider life, trapping all the little bugs that might come his way. However, should he decide to come into the house, he is going to be one flat spider! : ) Oh, and his name is "Waldo," according to Zach.

9. We are fixing to go see "The Switch" with Jennifer Aniston. Let's hope it's good!

10. I saw a preview on TLC for a new series called "Sister wives." It's about a polygamist who is married to three women. Can we say "WHAAAAT?" The commercials are disturbing enough, so I can't imagine what the show would be like. Needless to say, I don't believe we'll be watching that one!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
