Ten on Friday

1. It was craaaaaazy at school today, with a side of insanity. The kids were slow to liven up, and then I wished they hadn't! (Or at least not as much as they did!) 2. This weekend is the ever so "classy" tri-fest in Henderson. We can't wait to get some Philly Cheesesteaks and Gyros! 3. We are babysitting tonight, which will be fun because we haven't seen the kids in over a month! 4. Nellie got into brush and tall grass this weekend and came out with over 25 ticks on her. I just pulled off three more that had bitten into her! So gross and I hate to do it! Ticks are one of the creatures that I wonder why God would create them. They really serve no purpose! 5. I graduate in 20 days! Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? This has gone by so incredibly fast. 6. My load for school is massive. I have to finish my portfolio for student teaching, lesson plans for all of next week (when I will be teaching everything), a paper evaluating my own interview I had to record online, and two reflections. 7. We have had a lot of fun playing with the iTouch Zach got me for my birthday. I have already gotten the apps for bubblewrap and sudoku, so now I think I need to get around to putting my music on it! 8. Nellie went back to the vet on Wednesday for her final round of shots. They weighed her and she is now 19.8 lbs. Down 2 oz from before, but I know it's from her losing all the weight after surgery and now gaining it back. Hopefully we can keep her around this weight so she doesn't get hefty! 9. Zach got registered for classes at USI today! Yay! 10. Tomorrow my cousin, Wesley, and his fiancee, Lara, are having a brunch wedding shower in Alabama. We are sorry we can't make it, but will see them at their wedding in May!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
