Yet another Ten of Friday...

because I just couldn't fit it in to my Thursday!

1. First of all, some very exciting news! I have a job interview for an elementary position this Monday! I am simply thrilled that I even have an interview! Please pray for me on Monday!

2. Zach didn't have to go to work today. Lucky man! He did deserve a day off though because he has been working so hard!

3. Nellie enjoyed having her Daddy home so much today! Much better to her than staying in her crate all day.

4. We went to IHOP with Ryan and Kayleigh tonight. It was soooooo yummy.

5. I now have two weeks until graduation! It doesn't seem real to me, not yet. I'm not even sure it will feel like reality when it's going on. I'll just have to see. Oh, by the way, everybody is invited. USI had invitations, but they weren't pretty, and I had the brilliance to think that everyone who was invitied would know it. I guess I'll find out on May 8th, huh?

6. I sang "Jingle Bells" in Latin to my kids today. I have been telling them if they had a good enough day I would, and after a week, today was finally the day I got around to it. It was ridiculous how much it thrilled them!

7. We had a pretty bad thuderstorm this past week. I hate storms, so we were in our hall and then squeezed into our tiny hall closet... for around 30 seconds. Then we decided if it were a true emergency we would stay in there, but at the moment it was too crowded with Zach, Nellie, and I in there.

8. Zach is happy that "Swanp People" has started up on the History Channel. Okay, I'll admit, I think it's fun to watch too. Especially when Troy yells, "Shoot 'Em, Shoot 'Em" in his thick Cajun accent.

9. We get to babysit Ben, Becca, and Claire again tomorrow! The girls will already be asleep when we get there, but we are going kick back, relax, and watch a movie with Ben!

10. I'm watching TLC and wondering why our American Channel is going to have "Royal Wedding Week." Why do we need to obsess about royalty in another country, again?

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
