Ten on Thursday...

That is actually on a Thursday!

1. My work load feels like a heavy burden that has been lifted since I completed and submitted my portfolio Sunday night! It was my last undergraduate assignment to turn in, and let me tell you, it felt wonderful, amazing, relieving, any word you can think of for "good," that's how it felt!

2. I am praying that I get more interviews so I can find a job!

3. Since I'm on a "me" kick, I would like to continue my countdown to graduation. It's only 10 days away!

4. I only have 6 days of student teaching left. This leaves me bewildered and astounded that it is has flown by so quickly and befuddled because I have a constant voice in my head saying What will you do if you don't get a job? Then I remember that I am not supposed to worry: Cast all your anxiety on him for he cares for you.- (1 peter 5:7) I like that voice in my head much better than my own thoughts. We, or should I say, I, need to fully put it in His hands so that he can take care of me! I am soooo working on improving this!

5. Enough about moi, let's move on to current events and the rest of my family. Zach's company truck broke down on Tuesday this week, leaving them stranded on the side of the road on Henderson. Nellie girl and I hopped in the car and went to pick Zach and his co-worker up. They were walking down the highway with their lunchboxes and were pretty dirty, so Nellie didn't recognize Zach. Let's not forget she has never even seen the other man before. So naturally when I slow down, pull over, and they start walking towards the car, she transitions to defense mode and starts barking at them! It was hilarious, because she never, ever acts this way towards people. It was also comforting to me, because I feel if there was something or someone was trying to hurt me, she would go into defense mode!

6. Our Easter was lovely! Too bad I left my camera at home and I have no pictures to show. I'll try to get the ones off of my daddy's camera.

7. My Mama leaves for Montana tomorrow for one of her doctorate classes. It's 2 very long days long. Pray that she has safe travel and does well in her class.

8. Our niece, Aubrie, is having her 4th birthday this Saturday. I can't believe how fast she is growing and learning. She is so smart, funny, and beautiful. I think you could safely say that Zach and I are so very proud to be her Uncle and Aunt! We love you very much, Aubrie! (Don't worry, I won't forget pictures of this occasion... hopefully!)

9. Zach is getting a promotion at work! He is going to be a foreman himself and have his own crew! We are so proud of him!!

10. Nellie wants to go for a walk, so we are going to go! We've got to both get into shape!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
