Weekly wrap-up August 18-24

This week went by much faster than last! (This is a good, good thing!) I covered for a second grade teacher while she tested individual students, and I started tutoring one of my students from last year again. We finished tearing up the tile in our bathroom and went to pick out new tile on Monday. We also picked up our new vanity!

On Tuesday and Wednesday night we spent the night with Zach's parents while he laid the tile.  It had to sit for 24 hours before we could put the toilet back down, and with just a one-bathroom house, well, you know how that would go.  It was really nice too because their house is just 5 minutes from my school, so I got to "sleep in" a little.  It was extremely nice to be back home in our own bed on Thursday night though!

On Saturday, I went to Bowling Green with my Mom and sister to take furniture down to Western.  After not having access to the building we needed into, we got in and out, and then went to lunch at Olive Garden.  After that we got to shop till we dropped at their New York and Company down there!  I got some tops for once and just one dress.  I guess I should slow down my clothes buying until we have a house with a bigger closet!!  When I got home it was within minutes of Zach getting home, so we got to have supper together and just hang out!  All in all, a pretty good week.  Too bad the weekends go by so fast!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
