Blog every day in May- Day 15

Day 15- " A Day in the Life" post

On an average work day:
6:10, 6:15, 6:19, 6:24- My alarm goes off and I hit snooze repeatedly until 6:24. Have I ever mentioned I'm not a morning person? : )
6:25-6:50- Nellie and I have a very strict wake up schedule. I get up, go the bathroom, let her out of her kennel and let her in our (fenced) backyard to go potty. While she is out there I fix my breakfast and pour her breakfast in her bowl. She comes in, inhales her food, and then runs to sit one foot away from me to watch me eat my breakfast. I then get dressed, straighten/curl/fix my hair, pack lunch if I'm taking it, give Zach a kiss bye, give Nellie a kiss bye, and I'm out the door!

6:50-7:15ish- My drive to work. I usually take this as my quiet time when I listen to KLOVE radio station. A pretty good start to the day.

7:15-7:30- Arrive at school, prepare for the day.

7:30-8:00- Bus duty. Oh yes, I live the exciting life of a crossing guard at my school.  Not a bad gig, minus the crappy weather and cold days!

8:10-10:10- Teach 1st and 2nd grade reading groups.

10:10-10:35- 1st grade reading/math class.

10:35-11:35- Lunch!!!

11:35-12:35-Help in a 1st grade classroom with their math class.

12:35-2:30- In sequential order, 1st-5th grade reading/math classes.

2:40-3:00- Afternoon bus duty!

3:00-4:00- 3 days of the week I tutor some of my students. On days I don't tutor I get home any time between 3:30 to 5:30!

4:30ish- I get home and usually crash on the couch with Zach and Nellie for a few minutes.

5:30-6:00ish- I start cooking supper, empty/load the dishwasher, maybe throw  a load of clothes in the washer.

6:30- Supper is served!

The rest of the night is spent watching tv while I do my workout (about 30 minutes on the elliptical and some reps with my free weights.). Then I take a shower and it's usually time for bed!

Anywhere from 10:30-11:30- Lights out for the Scheller household! We usually fall asleep watching the Big Bang Theory of The Office!

I know we have a pretty unexciting day, but I do like routine, so it works pretty well for us!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
