Every Day posting in May (a day late) May 1st

I saw this idea on Thursday over @ Hello, Happiness!  She is blogging each day in May and there are prompts/ideas to write about!  Should be fun and a good way to keep me motivated, right?
The first prompt is to tell about yourself in 250 words or less.

I am Nathana. I was raised in Kentucky and lived with my Mama, Daddy, brother, and sister. Life was always fun growing up as my grandparents lived less than 1/4 mile down the road. I play the piano and french horn and was on swim team in high school. I definitely wasn't the best swimmer, but I absolutely loved it. I attended college at USI and lived on campus. In August 2007, I sat next to a boy at our dorm hall meeting that is now my husband. I love God and believe that he leads us to places or brings us to trials for our betterment and deeper trust and love of him. I've been through a lot of that. I can't say I loved the actual college classes, but I love that USI is where I met Zach. So often I think where I would be had I not attended USI and met Zach. He makes every day better and I love him more than he can imagine. We are living in Evansville and have a beagle daughter (Nellie) whom we love dearly. She is my heart! We can't wait to hopefully move back to Kentucky someday. I have always dreamt of being a mama. Meeting, dating, and marrying Zach were steps to making that dream a reality and I know that he is going to be the best Daddy someday! I just hope I am just as good of a Mama!

BAM! 244 words!  Thank you, thank you!  I tried hard on that one!
Oh boy!  My 17th birthday.  I don't think I look bad, it's just upsetting that it has been 7 years since then!
 See, playing the french horn!
Vacation in Florida.  Couldn't tell you what year, but I have a feeling it was circa 2006.
(L-R: Daddy, Me, Suzanne, Ross)
My Senior Prom- At my high school it was a tradition (if you chose to) to waltz with your parent!  So of course Daddy and I did!
High School graduation party!  May 18, 2007
Wow, looking back down pictures is way too fun!  Now I'm probably going to be in that La-La land for the next couple hours!  Hope ya'll enjoyed the trip down memory lane!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...
