Blog every day in May- Day 22

Day 22- Rant about something. Get up on your soapbox and tell us how you really feel.

Oh boy, I never get to rant! This should be a change of pace, so I feel like I should preface it by saying, don't take any of this personally. You may think I'm talking about you, but I'm most likely not.

Okay, time to get my rant on!
So it really annoys me when people like to tell Zach and I (but mostly they say it to me) when we should or should not have kids. Or when you run into someone in the distant family that you never see and they instantly ask with that look and say, "So when are ya'll thinking about having a baby?" Or "What are ya'll waiting for?"  First of all, when we do have a baby, I can tell you, we want it to be a surprise. I love hoopla and celebration, so don't worry! When we are expecting I will make sure we tell everybody in the most fun and creative way I can think of. (My mama always said I had a flair for the dramatic anyway! ; )

Now, I know people just ask these questions maybe because they
a.) think it's funny to hear my reaction
b.) genuinely care and are interested in Zach and I's plan of procreation. (Aca-awkward!)
c.) are nosy... Not unlike myself at times! ; )

My point simply is, having a child is something that we discuss extensively and have considered since before we got married.  We love our family and friends, value their opinions, and can't wait for when they will one day love on our babies. However, in our case (and I'm sure in many, many other couples cases) we would love it if people would pray for us and our journey to eventual parenthood... And leave the timing of making babies up to us! (And God!)

I hope you enjoyed my rant! (Even if you laughed the whole way through because you think I'm petty or silly!)

Have a great night! My last day if school is tomorrow! : ) Can we say "woo-hoo!"

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
