1 year old

Well, our Nellie girl is ONE year old today! We have had her all that time except for the 10 weeks she was with her dog mama. We sang to her this morning (okay, just me, Zach didn't participate) and Nellie seemed to not care. We love Nellie so much and are so glad she is ours. So long ago I was so nervous to be bringing a "house" dog home. Now if she is at my or Zach's parents' it is just too quiet! I can't imagine our lives without her!

1 year stats:
20 ish pounds (hopefully not gaining too much!)

Things Nellie loves:
Getting her belly rubbed
Running, running, running
Riding in the car
Getting in the trashcan and chewing up Kleenex.
Hiding when she gets into trouble.
Playing with water bottles
Snuggling with her Mama
Playing with her Daddy
Bathtime
Chewing her pork chomps. They are her absolute favorites!

I think that is about it for her likes!

We are having her birthday party Sunday and Zach seems to think I have gone waaayy too over the top! Really I am just having too much fun! I hope to get some pictures from that day!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

Bumpdate: 41 weeks!

How Far along: 41 weeks.   Baby's size: Size of a jack fruit!  Around 7.5 lbs. (I think he's going to be about 8 lbs and Zach's official guess is 9 lbs. 2 oz.  I hope he's wrong!) Weight loss/gain: 30 lbs. (So glad the weight gain is slowing down!) Sleep: I told Zach I no longer am even trying to keep track of how much I am getting up to go to the bathroom. Gender: B-O-Y Movement:  He has been back to his super active little self this week.  Best Moment of this week:  Getting to spend time at home together now that we're finished with the old house.  Also, the 3 day weekend!  We didn't sleep in, much, but we figure that's all about to end anyway! Looking Forward: Getting to meet our baby boy.  I think it will be a little weird, because I truly don't feel like I'm finished being pregnant yet.  But, alas, we pretty much have to follow Dr.'s orders. Food cravings: Still pineapple!  ...
