7 Pounds and a Motivational Pep Talk

And I'm not talking about the Will Smith movie that came out a few years ago.

I am talking about the amount of weight I have lost! (And I don't intend to go looking for it! hehe)

I was really surprised when I weighed seeing as it has only been about 3 weeks of really exercising. I have been walking on and off, but just recently started the elliptical. Zach and I have been cutting back on all that we eat for a little while though, so maybe that has helped some. : )

I ask that you pray for me as I know I will (and already am) tired every day just from work. I ask you to pray for me always to exercise when I just don't feel like it or have no motivation. I have to say though, right now, I have so much motivation. I picture so many good and positive things, and I intend to keep that up!!

It's up to all of you on my down days to lift me up! That's what friends and family are for, right? I also know that several of you are also needing motivation on many levels. Maybe it's planning a wedding (Jenna), or school (Jenna, Jacob, Natalie, Kasee, and Zach), or you have a classroom of children to motivate (Myself and my cousin, Lauren.) There are probably more that I am not even thinking of right now. I am thinking of all of you and lifting you up in my prayers for some good ol' motivation mo-jo! : )

So, in what area of your life are you needing motivation?

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
