Our Day of "Rest"

I of course say that because our rest has been few and far between. Our night went something like this.
•11:00 p.m.- Zach took a percocet, I emptied his drain and we collapsed into bed.
•1:00 a.m- Bathroom run
•3:00 a.m.- Bathroom run #2
•5:00 a.m.- More meds for Zach
•7:00 a.m.- We were basically up for good.

It took forever for us to join the land of the living. I don't think I took a shower until almost noon!
Zach's mom and sister came with our niece. She was definitely a nice distraction from everything because she is so sweet and funny, but our talking really hurt Zach's ears for some reason. ( and stop your laughing, we weren't even that loud, his poor head just couldn't handle the four of us. I got to run out to Target quickly while they were there to get movies Zach wanted. He was so happy when he saw I found them. I bought the A Team and (much to my future regret) Blazing Saddles. Trust me though, if you saw how puny he is, you would have too.

Overall he has been very sore today and he felt really awful when I changed his dressings. I am so glad I was able to care for him today and we are just praising God for his healing. We are thankful that Zach hasn't vomited or felt nauseous and pray that he would continue to not have those symptoms.

One big request we have for tonight is that Zach has just developed a fever. : (. This is what we were hoping to avoid, but he has it, so we're handling as best we can. Also pray for a more peaceful night, even though it seems that it won't be. God is good though and I am glad we are in the comfort of home and not in the hospital!

Goodnight everybody!

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

What I'm Thankful For...

Hey y'all. It's just Nathana in this post. I figured since I've been alive 20 years, that equals 20 Thanksgivings, so I'm gonna have the 20 things I'm most Thankful for. Here goes nothing! : ) 1. The first thing of course I am thankful for is my salvation through Jesus Christ! Without him I have no hope to be anything! 2. My mom and dad, and the home they raised me in. I could not imagine any parents better than mine, and I'm proud to be their daughter. I'm also thankful they didn't give me away to a farm when I was difficult! 3. My brother and sister. No one else knows all of the trouble we've been in and fun we've had over the years and even though we don't always see eye to eye, I wouldn't trade them for any other siblings. 4. Zachary Scheller. God has blessed me with an even better future husband than I could have ever asked for. My love and respect for him grows each day, and I will be so thankful this June when I can ca...

No-spend February

I have always been a "saver" of money, practically since I started receiving it for birthdays and especially since earning it.  I nearly cried when I paid $211 dollars cash for my iPod nano when I was 16. True fact!  So a long time ago I heard of a "Dave Ramsey" type idea of a no-spend month where in your household you pay your bills and buy groceries, and no extras for one month.  Then see how much you save.  Before the new year Zach and I were thinking about plans for this next year and things we're planning on saving for, so this idea appealed to the both of us!  Next came the decision of what month to pick for our month.  We knew December was out, for obvious reasons and we felt we needed more time to prepare than January, so February it was... also, who else would admit we're smart for doing this during the shortest month of the year? ; )  Yes, we thought of that as well. We did decide our own guidelines that fit our family. 1. Pay our bills....
