Happy Halloween!

First, I must give props to my Mama, because she ended up being the one who sewed my entire costume.  I pretty much did nothing other than cut out all the pieces!  Isn't my Mama awesome?  Today at school.  Everyone, especially the kids loved my costume.  I spent the entire day speaking what I considered to be a very good Snow White voice.  I got so many hugs from little ones!  I also carried an apple around and pretended like I was about to take a bite to see kids' reactions and many of them shouted, "No! Don't eat it! It's poisoned!"  I thought that was pretty hilarious!  Apparently I'm just asking for a deep sleep!  When I got home, I subjected Nellie to her Halloween costume from last year and we had a photo shoot.  We were quite bored since Daddy was working and since there were no trick-or-treaters.  (They postponed trick-or-treating until tomorrow due to severe storms!  I HATE storms!)                 I realize she look terrified here, bu

Fall "Break"

I kicked my fall break off by semi-sleeping in on Friday morning.  I barely remember Zach kissing me goodbye and leaving for class, but only minutes after I was getting my wake-up call from little Miss Nellie.  I got up with her and snuggled and then got out the paint. Saturday morning I convinced Zach to make me pancakes and he upped the anty by making them Halloween chocolate chip ones! : ) The bathroom wall is still really rough, so we're going to have to do something else to it, but at least we got up all our fixtures up for now!    Saturday night it was so cold, we ran by Thornton's and got cappucino after (unsuccessfully) searching for me a costume. Sunday afternoon we went deer hunting and sat in Zach's new deer stand that replaced the one someone stole last year!   He loves having me with him! (I think!)    Monday, I ran errands and picked up a cupcake from a place called the Pace Tre.   I've had their cupcakes before, each one mor

Weekly update

This past week was just a 3 day one for me because I took off Monday and our fall break at school started Friday!  What's not to love about a three day week?  Monday we got to sleep in and work on the bathroom.  We took a trip to Rural King and then Zach went hunting.  I had to drive over to the high school for a meeting about aides, where they told us our hours were being cut due to the new guidelines of Obamacare.  Sigh... That's really all I can say about that.  If you know me, you probably have already heard me talk about it and know how I feel.     The brighter side to my day was seeing this girl:                                                            And this guy!!  Lauren was on her Fall break and brought Lexie and Logan up to visit Mama Joyce!  We all played together and Lexie tried to talk to Lucky (Suzanne's horse) while wearing her Sophia the First dress.  Apparently on the show Sophia uses her Amulet (or "Amulance" as Lexie calls it) to

The fairest of them all

We are supposed to dress up as a storybook character for Halloween at school! Here's a sneak peek at what I'm sewing for myself!! Guesses?

Weekend Recap

We had a wonderful weekend with our friends, Christine and Cole!  Christine was my college roommate and Cole is her husband.  All four of us lived in the same apartment complex at USI.  We had been wanting to get together for a long time, and this weekend worked perfectly for us.  We went up to their house about 2 hours away. The first stop after we got there was for lunch at a local eatery, Joe's Garage.  BBQ, one of our favorites! The most handsome husband in the world! The best roommate in the world! : ) After lunch, they gave us a tour around their town and we went to see their house that they are renovating!  It was so exciting to see what they've already done and to hear their plans!! We went back to their other house and lounged and decided to go to Terra Haute to get supper at Olive Garden so we could get our pumpkin cheesecake!  (Christine and I used to go and get it each Fall when we were in college!) Happy girls with our pumpkin cheesecake!

Fall Fest

On Thursday, Megan came over to go down to the Fall Festival with me.  Fall Festival is a huge deal to people from Evansville, but to me I like to just go, grab some food, and go home!  (Haha, exciting, I know!) I tried something new this year; corn fritters. Megan modeling the corn fritters!  They were pretty good, but I couldn't convince her to try them! The main even:  Baked potato with BBQ chicken, sour cream, and cheese.  It was delicious! Megan and I!  We both picked up kuchen to bring home!  I got cherry and cinnamon!  Yum, Yum, Yum!  We came back to the house and made puppy chow while watching some episodes of "The Office."  I never get tired of watching that show!   Now I just need to hop on the elliptical to pay for all that yummy food!

The big 3-0-0

This is my 300th post!!  Hopefully I have not been boring for all of them!!  How about a little life catch up?  Our weekends have been busy ever since September, and I don't see them slowing down any before Christmas is said and done.  One might find this tiring, but I love knowing that there are so many people in my life that I want to do things with and that want to have me around! My school weeks have been flying by.  I am coordinating a program called Strengthening Families on Tuesday nights at my school and I look forward to it every week.  I really feel like I am bonding with the families that come and that I am helping them.  I love it! Zach's weeks are busy as he works a lot of days and is going to school.  A year from now he will be graduating and so much will change.  I hate (well, not really) to get sappy, but I am just so very proud of him.  I can barely put into words what him graduating will mean for our family.  Two incomes, a move (Yay!), and many more excit
