Mother's Day 2014

Mother's day started with me taking Mama Joyce and Mama breakfast and some flowers.  We ate together, then headed to church. All of us cleaning! Proof that we CAN clean up!  After church we helped get lunch ready, ate, cleaned up and then took pictures a picture. We children changed clothes and were all looking rough, so we only got the one! At 5:30, we went to Western Rib Eye with his side to celebrate!  A simple, non-crazy day.  It went by entirely too quickly, though!  Nellie also surprised me with a present! ; )  She must have had some good help.  I am so blessed to be her Mama, and with her not feeling well, I am ever-reminded of how much she means to me.  God gave her to me to be my little comfort, my sidekick, and my sweet girl.  Oh, how I love her.

Suzanne's WKU Graduation

Nellie promised ya'll I'd write about this soon, so while we wait for the vet, here it is. May 17, Suzanne graduated from Western!  I'm going to let the pictures do the talking, but do have to tell a funny first. We stopped at Chick-Fil-A in Owensboro on our way down to get breakfast.  At the window, the young man dropped my debit card and it landed under my car.  I had to get out and crawl on the ground to get it, and while down there, he said, "If you want to pick up all that change and keep it, I think you deserve it!"  So I did.  Yeah, my dignity was already on the ground with my debit card, so I picked it up.  Then, bless their hearts, they charged us for a drink we didn't want, so had to refund me with cash.  Same young man hands me the bill and most of the change, but drops some of it.  I become thankful I already have change from their drive-thru, and tell him not to worry about it.  I was soooooo done.  Zach was dying laughing.  Suzanne also enjo

May 9/17 AKA two of the scariest days of my life

We had severe storms in Evansville on Friday, and our power went out, trees blew down, and traffic lights were out.  I got home from the Y at 4:30 and had panicked some because Zach texted me that Nellie was acting weird.  I hurried home and for a while she just seemed kind of subdued, but by 5:30, she was shaking uncontrollably, panting really hard, and shrieked whenever we tried to pick her up.  The All Pet Emergency Hospital opened at 6:00, and we were there waiting at the doors when it did.  Up until this part of the story, it may sound like I was calm, but I assure you, I was not.  Zach was asleep on the couch when I was trying to bring Nellie inside, and I distinctly remember crying and screaming at the top of my lungs for him.  I also bawled like a baby for some of the ride there, because we had no clue what had happened to her and I was so scared.  So, we get to the "Pet ER" and they get us in right away.  Zach was parking the car, and all I could do was blubber and

April 28-May 2 and this week!

These last two weeks have become increasingly busier between work outs, finals, tutoring, and of course, jobs! The 28- 2nd was ISTEP at my school, so I spent the week administering that.  Cue chewing off my fingernails and wanting to rip my hair out! Our niece, Aubrie, had her 7th birthday on April 30, and we were all going to celebrate... until the poor thing came down with strep.   From what I hear, she had an awful case of it, so we're going to celebrate next week!  We can't believe she's 7! I went to mow at my Mama Joyce's on Friday night and all was going well until I ran over an old swing with the chains still attached that must have fallen off of an old picnic table, because it's been in that vicinity for about 15 years and I've never hit it before.  Naturally, it was all wrapped around the lawn mower blade, so I attempted (while shouting multiple "special" words I save for frustrated moments) to get it off.  A few failed attempts with lit
