Weekly Wrap-Up November 11-16

On Monday, we had an extremely meaningful and nice Veteran's Day program at my school.  All the students participated, and I think all the Veterans in attendance felt very honored and appreciated.  My kiddos made me very proud!

Tuesday was Strengthening Families again, and only have 1 more left!!  Hard to believe it's almost over!

On Thursday, Megan and I had a much anticipated Buffalo Wild Wing date accompanied with some DE-LIC-IOUS Cold Stone.   I can still taste it... yum!

Then we went back to the house to watch some of The Office since Megan is working her way through the seasons.  Nellie really loves her aunt Megan!  She was so rotten cuddling up to her and begging to be petted!
On Saturday, Zach and I went hunting in the afternoon.  We walked around a field and finally sat down.  Less than three minutes after sitting down, Zach whisper-yells that he sees a deer.  I had my binoculars out and watched it carefully while he scrambled to get out his shooting sticks and get sighted in.  It was so special, because it was actually the first deer I've seen him shoot.  All the other times it was either me shooting, or we just didn't have any luck.  A few short minutes of looking later, and we found our guy.
My dear and his deer! : )

We teased my Daddy that he was supposed to get the deer in the picture, too!

After our exciting, yet short (Yay!), hunt, we ate supper at my Mama and Daddy's and made pretzels!!  So now I know I can always be a pretzel twister at the mall, if worse comes to worse!! ; )

Family room re-do featuring.... my curtains! : )

For a while now, we've planned on finally finishing our family room.  That's right, it's kind of been unfinished for the entire time we've lived there.  It was painted and decorated, just no molding and the ceiling was hideous because we (and by we, I mean Zach) took down the drop ceiling the previous owners had put up.  So, anyway, I looked at curtains and didn't really find anything I liked, so I decided I was going to make my own.  Zach and I looked at Jo-Ann's a couple times and each time we looked I liked this fabric more and more.  It was the most expensive fabric I've ever bought, but in the end, it was sooooo worth it! (*Note- I bought the fabric in January before NSM! : )) Here we are at Mama Joyce's one day after church cutting the panels.  I think we were all nervous to cut it.  It was too costly to mess up! Fast forward a couple weeks because I didn't have time, was lazy, and also scared to sew on it, and I finally just delved in an...

Turns out...

Third grade is not bad at all! The kids are still pretty sweet and are so excited for me to be there and I am excited too! I think it will be fun to see all that they can do and have fun with them. Yesterday I received 5 notes on my desk about how excited that I was there and about how much fun we were going to have. I think they are right! Hopefully I get the hang of them quickly, because I start teaching Science (Mon and Wed), Social Studies(Tues and Thur), and PE (Fri) next week!

Bumpdate: 41 weeks!

How Far along: 41 weeks.   Baby's size: Size of a jack fruit!  Around 7.5 lbs. (I think he's going to be about 8 lbs and Zach's official guess is 9 lbs. 2 oz.  I hope he's wrong!) Weight loss/gain: 30 lbs. (So glad the weight gain is slowing down!) Sleep: I told Zach I no longer am even trying to keep track of how much I am getting up to go to the bathroom. Gender: B-O-Y Movement:  He has been back to his super active little self this week.  Best Moment of this week:  Getting to spend time at home together now that we're finished with the old house.  Also, the 3 day weekend!  We didn't sleep in, much, but we figure that's all about to end anyway! Looking Forward: Getting to meet our baby boy.  I think it will be a little weird, because I truly don't feel like I'm finished being pregnant yet.  But, alas, we pretty much have to follow Dr.'s orders. Food cravings: Still pineapple!  ...
